Hi everyone!
This is my first flight report and I'm very exited about it!!
Before going to the Oporto's airport I went with my family to a shopping mall very close to it, and I could take pictures of some aircrafts taking off (sorry for the quality, I'm doing this flight report with the iPhone's camera).
Once in Francisco Sá Carneiro, we looked for the cheking luggage gate, hopefully they was very close to us (1,2,3).
As you can see, I wrapped my suitcase with tape, because I saw a video where a man showed how to open a suitcase closed with a padlock! Wrapping a suitcase with tape doesn't look very glamurous, but it really works!
They weighed both my hold and my cabin luggage. One of them was exceeding 1 or 2 Kg, but they allowed me to fly because the other suitcase was very light ;)
Then, we went to the security chekin. It was very funny, because the security guard said 'it's fine, have a good trip', and I replied 'thanks you, have a good trip' and we looked each other like laughing
I looked for the gate, which was the number 34 and surprisingly they didn't change it
As usually, there weren't a lot of people, this is one of the best things of the Oporto's airport!
Here I show you some of the services they offer. There are phone chargers for Iphone, Blackberry, Samsung, Nokia.. I also like very much the free water (cold or not)
I went to the lounge, because I wanted to know how was it, and take some pictures to show in my flight-report, but I just have a picture of the corridor, because the girls who were on the reception were like 'what are you doing here?'. It's a pity, but it was not very unusual, just some sofas, flowers etc
30 or 40 minutes before the departure time, boarding begins and everybody gets into the queue, but I prefer to remain sitting while I charge my cell phone
As I was expecting, we had a finger to board the plane
On the hold luggage chekin, I was allocated on the seat 8E, but when I arrived there was a man sitting there. I told him (in French) that it was my place, but he didn't mind, so I tried to speak Portugese, and he was like very angry, and he had his head turned to the window when I was speaking with him, so I decided not to argue because I knew I was going to go to the toilet once in the air. People like this are usually disappointed with their life!
I also took pictures of some details, like the headrests, the onboard magazine, the safety instructions..
Next to us there was a beautiful easyJet Switzerland aircraft! It was coming from Geneva or Basel. At the other side there was a Luxair plane.
We took off, and one of the cabin crew members distributed the meals magazine, because in flight from/to Portugal, Aigle Azur doesn't give food, we have to pay it. It doesn't matter, because I paid 51€ for the flight, with a 20kg hold suitcase included.
I chosed a hot chocolate and a muffin chocolate. I prefer the easyJet's blueberry muffin and hot chocolate, but these ones were not bad
I show you some photos before landing. There were very nice views with the sunset. I wish I was sitting next to the window. One picture is from the right side (where there was the impolite man), and the other one is from the left side of the corridor.
When we landed it was night and I could see the 'Tour Eiffel' and its typical light that turns 360º. The iPhone was turned off, so I have no pictures of that.
We left the aircraft taking the stairs and two buses. It was cold and dark ouside. Tehere was such a big difference between the sunny Portugal and Paris!
I had a very nice journey!!
Thanks for reading, and if you're writing another Aigle Azur report let me know to read yours!
Thanks for sharing your first FR and welcome aboard
The quality of the pictures is not great
Why didn't you ask the FAs to have your seat ?
The legroom seems to be a bit tight
You're welcome! Thanks to you :)
Well, actually I want to be a Flight Attendant, so I always try to solve all the problems onboard by myself. But anyway, I knew I was going to stand up several times once flying!!
I haven't paid attention to the legroom, I'm very short :D
Welcome onboard ! And thanks for sharing this first FR.
Too bad the photos are blurry, because the content is great. It's a comprehensive review of the Aigle Azur product :) You wouldn't phone with a camera, so don't take pictures with a phone ^^
I would not fight for a seat but I would fight for putting misbehaving people back to where they belong.
Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for this first report, as my friends already said, welcome aboard ! A nice english writer is always appreciated :)
That kind of behavior makes me sick and I don't try to fight with people like that. Instead, I would ask the cabin crew to solve the problem.
Thanks to you for reading! I also speak French, I'm thinking about translating my report, but it's a lot of work :D
Yes, it's awful, I couldn't believe it, I tried to solve the situation without their help because I want to become a cabin crew, but he saw that I'm young so he didn't mind at all.
Marathon, it was not a mistake but an impolite reaction! :/
Seat errors do happen, by mistake or carelessness, but I was fortunate never to have experienced this king of rude behavior. I too would certainly ask a flight attendant in that situation rather than argue.
This is a refreshing and complete report. You really deserve having a real camera - a cheap compact camera would be much better than a smartphone which is many times more expensive.
I like the picture where the plane seems to sit on the bus... and also that of the suitcase :)
Thanks for this first FR and welcome among the contributors !
Good cameras are quite expensive, I prefer expend money travelling ;)
Yes, the plane looked like a bus, you're right!!
Thanks you!! I'm pretty sure it won't be the last one!
Thank you for this first report and welcome.
It's too bad that you had a bad experience with your seat. Jerks are part of life but fortunately they are a very small minority.
You paid a great price for your ticket. I sure wouldn't mind paying for food neither.
Thanks you to you for reading it :D
The price was amazing, yes!! Even Ryanair was more expensive :)
Thanks for this FR and welcome.
Though ZI's operations are pretty big, we don't have many reports here.
For the price you paid abd the convenience of arriving at ORY, it sure was a good deal. The BoB prices seem reasonable too.
Hi, thanks to you for reading it!
I'd like to do another report of my flight back to Portugal
Yes, it was a good deal, but I don't know what the BoB prices are!!
