INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone
While I was in Rome for Easter 2026 a friend of mine working for ITA Airways invited my for a short trip to Paris the following weekend (10-12 April)
He was supposed to fly there on service from FCO, while I should have arrived from LIN
The ticket was 110 euros
I choose the 19:10 flight on Friday in order to ask 1-hour of work permit only
He booked the flight for me on Tuesday evening

LE BOURGET MUSEUM
The weekend in Paris was really pleasant, I love this city so much
On Sunday morning we left our hotel and dropped the bags in a locker at Paris-Gare du Nord
After lunch my friend departed to CDG since he had to pick up his flight to Rome-FCO
Having some spare time (I was supposed to be at the airport around 19/19:30) and having visited all Paris sights in the previous trips, I decided to pay a visit to Paris-Le Bourget Museum
The museum is officially known as Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace

The museum core is hosted inside the old terminal, in Art Nouveau style

The first hall is an entire book of history of aviation, starting from the early days of Wright's brothers to the Great War

This Breguet 19 TF "Super Bidon" completed the first transatlantic flight from Paris to New York in 1930

Dassault Mirage 2000, the most famous French jet-fighter

Getting into the Concorde Hall carried a small tear
Air France Aérospatiale Concorde F-BTSD
First flight on 26th June 1978 (47.8 years old at the moment)
Delivered to Air France the following September
Flew as Braniff International Airways in 1979 and carrying Pepsi livery in 1996
Equipped with 100 seats
Retired, along with the other Concordes, on the 31st May 2003

Corporate door and fuselage shot

A glimpse of the cockpit, so impressive to see all those buttons, levers and analogical indicator

The plane is equipped with 100 seats in 2-2 configuration
Look tight, but I'd have handle it

The wing looks massive from all the angles

Beautiful nose-cone

Aérospatiale Aérospatiale Concorde F-WTSS
First flight on 2nd March 1969 (57.1 years old at the moment)
The first Concorde ever to take air
Flew as test plane for Aérospatiale
Retired on October 1973

The exterior offers more and more interesting birds

And the cockpit

Such an unusual door to disembark…

Air Inter Dassault Mercure

His Majesty the Airbus A380
Such a pity it's not possible to step onboard

Air Provence Caravelle, probably one of the sexiest plane ever

The adjacent apron carries this funny signal

In general the Museum is great, I think it should be a must for avgeeks
This is just a taste, I've take like 100+ pictures
THE FLIGHT
Around 18:30 I arrived at Paris-Gare du Nord to retrieve my baggage at the locker

The station was pretty busy, hosting many TGVs to northern France and Eurostar services to London-St.Pancras
It's also a big hub for RER, especially the B line going to CDG

Getting the train moments before 19
Apparently it's a "direct" service

The train wasn't too full, meaning I was able to take a seat

Alighting at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport minutes before 19:30

Probably one of the most famous FIDS
Terminal 2B for me

Terminal 2B is around 5-10 minutes walking from the station

airBaltic A220-100 in Lithuanian Flag special livery

Terminal 2B has been recently upgraded
It didn't look too busy

ITA Airways desks were empty

The check-in took no time, I was able to check my luggage and got my BP printed

Before accessing security I got outside for a cigarette
In my architect opinion the design of this terminal was ground-breaking for its time

Since I wanted to have dinner I avoided staying landside too much
Making my way to security around 20

Security is hosted in a new common building between T2B and T2D
Unfortunately, more than half of lanes were closed

The process was pure mess
While people were queuing an additional lane was closed
I was sent to the one hosting families and people with necessities which was pretty slower
Only one X-Ray portal was available for two X-Ray baggage machines, cutting in half the capacity
I had to stand in line for like 5 minutes before getting the body inspection
Once I retrieve my stuff an agent un-politely told me to put the tray back on the track
I answered her that usually I do it, but from an airport like CDG I'd have expected the bare minimum
Totally disappointing
Getting airside almost half a hour after scanning my boarding card at the gate

Mandatory duty-free passage

The main departure lounge was packed at capacity, all the food options presented long queue
In general all the employees looked bored and avoid answering 100% politely
I got a slice of pizza in the only kiosk looking less busy than others

As boarding time approached I made my way to gate D51

ITA Airways Airbus A220-100 EI-MVB
First flight on 22nd June 2024 (1.8 years old at the moment of the flight)
Delivered to ITA the same month
Equipped with 125 seats in C-Y mixed configuration
It's dedicated to Andrea Giani, one of the most successful Italian volleyball player

L'heure blue

Only the first two rows were used as Business Class

Aegean A321neo sitting next to us

The plane looked full

Minutes in advance on departure time the finger was disconnected

We left the gate moments after

El Al 737, Air Serbia A320 and an unknown A320

Oman Air 787 taxiing to the terminal

We'd take off from runway 08L

Engines went full thrust less than 10 minutes after scheduled

Halls L and M

Terminal 2G, dedicated to short-haul and regional flights

The massive long term parking

Climbing over the eastern portion of the Ile-de-France

Being pretty tired I took a nap for the whole flight
I've also missed the drink service
I woke up descending to Linate, 50 minutes into the air
Milan lighted-up below us

San Siro Stadium

Pointing south of Milan before lining up to runway

Assago neighborhood with A7 and A50 motorways
The indoor sports arena known as "Forum" dominates the area

A7 motorway to Genova with its toll-plaza

Banking over the southern suburbs like Rozzano

Runway in sight!

Milan highest skyscrapers recognizable by their red lights

At 22:44, sixteen minutes before scheduled, we touched down at Milano-Linate Airport

Blocking three minutes after touching down

Disembark was pretty quick
The only full pic I got of tonight's bird

Fifteen minutes after touching down we're dropped at the terminal

My bag took a couple of minutes to emerge on the conveyor belt
I was able to collect my car some time around 23:30
Arrived at home half past midnight
Thank you for the attention
des souvenir au musée de l'air et d l'espace ou j'y es travaillé 10 années . Merci
Beautiful!
