Back in February 2013, and after a visit to the Holy land of Mecca and Madineh to perform Omra (religious tourism), it is now time to fly back to the Cedar Land i.e. Lebanon. The best way to fly to Lebanon is highly recommended by MEA – Middle East Airlines (SkyTeam Partner).
My flight for this evening will be operated by MEA’s A320-214 F-OMRC (re-registered to T7-MRC in 2014). The aircraft was delivered new from Airbus in September 2012.
The flight details are as follows:
Flight Number : ME369
Duration : 2 Hours and 10 Minutes
STD/ATD : 22:15/22:35
STA/ATA : 23:45/23:45 (on-time due to tail winds)
Stepping into the aircraft, the cabin is very clean comfortable. In few minutes we took off fron OEJN runway 34L heading north to Jordanian airspace, then we will continue to the Syrian airspace, after that we shall bank west through waypoints “KTN” and “LEBOR” where we will initiate our decent through waypoints CEDARS–> CAK–>ZALKA–>KAD11–>KAD08 where we had a nice touchdown at OLBA runway 16.
After reaching our cruise level of FL380, dinner service was initiated. We had two options between either Daoud Basha (Meat Balls with rice) or Hammour Fish with creamy sauce. I opted for the later which is served with SALMON salad, and a fruit cake. As usual, MEA meals are generous compared to short flight duration. I was pampered by the cabin steward with several cups of Pepsi, tomato juice and tea. Meal pictures below
MEA cabin are all equipped with personal IFE TVs loaded with most released hits. However, as I prefer to track the flight, the following IFE screen shots shows our flight path flying over Syria. I was wondering by the time of the flight how many person down there is suffering from the Syrian war.
At 23:45 despited our late departure from Jeddah, we arrived on-time which a real tribute to MEA pilot skills
Thanks for posting this report.
I must that I am impressed by the quality and size of the meal that is served in economy on such a flight.
The cabin with the IFE is also very nice and geovision is my favorite program with the views from the window !
MEA is doing a good job
Thanks for this FR! The meal is indeed quite impressive, serving Salmon (even in a salad) is quite remarkable for Y meals!
The cabin feels modern and the IFE is outstanding for such a short flight (should be a 10 honestly!).
Keep up the good work!:D
Thank you for the report, great Y product indeed by MEA!
As of now MEA is the only airline I know that still flies over Syrian airspace even after the tragic MH17 incident.
After all it's the only way to bypass israeli airspace to get to Beirut, aah politics..
