Hello, I've been viewing lots of flight reports on this website lately and I managed to find a good deal for BOG-CTG coming back the same day just to try out Avianca's new 787. This is my first flight report and some feedback on what I should improve on would be greatly appreciated for future flight reports.
Avianca 787 N783AV pushing back before departure.
Boarding to Ctg was on schedule, here is a nice look at the wing of N782AV.

Air Canada 767-300ER - C-FCAG to Toronto.
Colombian presidential plane FAC-0001 with El Dorado's new tower under construction in the background.
Even though the pushback was on time the flight was delayed for about 40 minutes because of the presidential plane taking off thus causing delays.
Takeoff
Climbing to FL360 for the short hop to Cartagena.
During the climb the Flight attendants dimmed the windows for most of the duration of the flight.
Crossing the Magdalena river.
Storms during the flight.
Flight map, had to deviate a little from the planned route due to weather.
Descending towards warm and humid Cartagena.
On approach to the runway with canal del dique by our side.

My first flight on the Boeing 787 was comfortable, I was surprised at how quiet it was shortly after takeoff. Feedback of this flight report would be greatly appreciated. I will shortly be writing the report for my flight back to Bogota in the C cabin.

You were lucky to get a brand new 787 on this short domestic route, the new wings on the 787 and 747-8 look good. On time performance did suffer on this flight, but you did get to spot the presidential plane so it was probably worth it.
The dimmed windows makes it look like you are at an aquarium, I half-expected to see some fish in the picture, lol.
I like how huge the plane is in the moving map.
Was there catering on this route? What seating arrangement does AV use on the 787? Do they use the standard 3-3-3 or a 2-4-2?
In future reports, pictures of the catering and the seat/cabin (if it's not too crowded) would be greatly appreciated. But great first report and look forward to seeing more South American routes in the future!

What a nice way to try a new aircraft. It seems that you enjoyed your flight. As NGO85 suggested above, it would be nice to include some pics of the inflight experience to justify the scores.
Nice shots of the aircraft upon landing. I think the livery looks good with the plane.

Thanks for this report ! The Avianca livery looks beautiful on the B 787. I hope to discover Cartagena one day and fly Avianca and airline that I don't have , yet, on my list !
I garre with the previous comment about having more pics of the cabin. Next time for sure ;-)
Hello, the layout for the Business cabin was 1-2-1 and the economy class was 3-3-3. The plane is configured 28J/222Y. The catering for the short flight was just a beverage service, a choice of juice/water/soda.
Next time I will make sure to take a few more shots of the cabin :)

I do like the Avianca's Dreamliner.
Unfortunately, there is no picture of the cabin and the seats :( Think about taking pictures of the cabin and catering for your next flight.
