Hello All!
Welcome to this flight report on a trip I made last October when I went to see my sister in The Netherlands. My sister currently studies in The Hague, and I still go to school in Qatar.
I had always wanted to travel on Etihad, and finally, during Eid holidays, my dream came true. Etihad was by far the least expensive option. At that time, Qatar Airways still did not fly a direct route between Doha and Amsterdam. KLM was too expensive, and for some reason unbeknown to me, Emirates was not an option. My family and I could have traveled on Turkish Airlines and transfer in IST in order to land in Rotterdam / The Hague Airport, but in order to get to The Hague, it seemed more convenient to land in Amsterdam Schipol Airport.
Before getting on board, let us start with photos of The Hague; which, by the way, is truly a city in which one feels comfortable.
On a chilly Autumn afternoon, it was already time to depart. We took the train at Den Haag Centraal railway station to go to the airport for our flight at 22:00.
Schiphol airport is by far one of the best I have been to. It is clean, easy to navigate, comfortable with friendly staff.
Plane-spotting not at its best. Can only manage to get a poor shot of a Korean Air A330-200 bound to Seoul.
Some, again, poor shots of my bird, registration A6-EYN which made its first flight on April 2007.
What is strange is that, in Schiphol, the security process happens at the gate.
On-board the plane:
Nice PTV size:
Good seat pitch for me, but back then, I measured only 1.71 meters.
The amenity kit was a very nice touch.
Window view with raindrops starting to collect on my window:
A random pic and safety video playing:
Push-back, if I remember, was done on time.
Taxxing to runway:
Take off:
Meals were distributed shortly after take off. I kept the menu, and it read as follows:
Appetizer –> Potato, green beans and olive salad. Warm Bread.
Main Course –> Pan seared chicken breast with rosti potato, mixed green vegetables and red pepper sauce.
Arabic spiced lamb kofta served with basmati rice, grilled aubergines, tomato and olive sauce.
Tortellini filled with vegetables served with wilted spinach and cream sauce.
Dessert –> Chocolate and orange delice
Cafe Service –> Selection of muffin.
The appetizer:
It was pretty good, but lacked seasoning.
I chose the pasta option:
It was so delicious!!
The dessert:
It was really good.
Overall, an extremely satisfying culinary experience with Etihad :P
Some more random pics:
The headphones provided are of a superior quality that EK and QR.
I decided to sleep a little, and, when I woke up, we were here:
Muffin as a pre-arrival snack: There was a choice between chooclate or blueberry.
I loved it.
Outside, the sun is starting to wake up:
Mood lighting:
A lot of random pics:

Yes, we are quite indeed in AUH:
END.
Thank you very much for reading. Feel free to comment. Safe travels and see you soon for EK78 NCE-DXB :)
Thanks for sharing this nice report with lots of good detail. I'm also a fan of Schipol as it is very convenient and mostly hassle-free. I try not to pass security at the gates too early because it can get very crowded and boring. Sounds like you didn't have time to go up to AMS famous outdoor terrace. It is great for planespotting. Looks like a very nice flight with Etihad and the meal looks really good!
