Dear Fligh-Reporters,
this is my first flight report Im trying to write. Reading flight reports belongs to one of my favourite things I do every day. So this report covers a short 4 days trip to Malaga and Gibraltar.
We were very late concerning booking process. We just made the booking 3 weeks before and prices were extraordinarily high - of course its high season - but we had never expected prices beeing that high even for those LCC offering nothing for a bundle of money. Nontheless we found a reasonable connection with Iberia.
The flight to AGP was nonstop with VY and will not be covered. The good thing was that the return flight - covered now - was in J. Actually "Business Promocional" was lot cheaper than any other tariff at time of booking.
After returning the rental car in the catacombs of AGP Airport we went to AGPs newer Terminal T3.
Its a seemingly endless walk during this humid and hot afternoon.
Finally arriving in Terminal T3 and checking "Salidas"
The entrance was next to the older Terminal. We were heading counters 302-305 dedicated to IB costumers. Counter 302 was dedicated to IB passengers travelling with higher statuses etc.
The lady checking us in was impolite not believing us at first that we were flying IB via MAD to ZRH and asked us why we do that. I was a bit confused about that question. After that discussion she checked us in. No more words and we got our boarding passes.
The Terminal was not that overloaded, many check-in counters were not open yet but people were queing. We went to security checks.
We used "el carril rapido". A nice lady checked our boarding passes and we were let through. ( Sorry for the blurry picture )
Post security obligatory walk through duty free area.
Following the signs we found "Sala VIP" on the second floor. The loung was empty, not much on offer but enough to spend little time. The view was not that good because of these sunblades.
Announcements were made for all departing flights, some flight respected priorities. Even though our IB-flight but when we arrived at D65 there was a huge queu and a numerous family of 17 members boarding at the same time. The communication between boarding agent and that family was not fine - they had no argument - but they had problems to manage the boarding process. They were also connecting in MAD onward to FRA so they had 34 boarding passes plus their passports plus an older lady who got special assistance. Boarding passes were not belonging to each passport so we waited.
We boarded via walking through the apron. I really enjoyed that. Finally we arrived at our CRK (EC-MLN) a brand new plane promoting the city of VIGO as a A Sea Of Life - need to go there one time.
We are in. There were three rows dedicated to J with a reasonable pitch. The plane smelled brand new, was clean and bright. A refreshment towel was given during boarding.
Take off was a bit delayed 10 minutes due to the boarding process. No annoucement from the front office. But flight attends told that we would arrive on time. Security announcements were displayed mannualy. And soon we took of from RWY 13.
T/O was turbulent. Service started after 15 minutes. There were drinks on offer and Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream. A short visit to the lavatories was obligatory. 1.75m fitting exactly into front lavatory.
The flight was quiet and one could enjoy the flight with sophisticated views of spanish landscape. Soon descent into Madrid was announced and we landed slightly behind schedule at 1907. We arrived on a remote stand at the gorgeous Terminal T4. We were at the K Gates. We had enough time to connect but had a long but nice walk until H Gates for IB3467.
