Hello and welcome to this flight report of Lufthansa Flight 971 from ABZ to FRA!
After spending a couple of days at Aberdeen ( again with great weather, somehow I always enjoyed great weather when visiting the UK so far :-D ) I went back home on a saturday afternoon.
Contrary to the outbound flight in Business Class ( You can check out this flight as well:here ) I booked Eco for this flight.

Arrival at Aberdeen Airport
The bus connection to ABZ airport is pretty good on saturdays as well and I arrived about 2 hours before boarding time.

The terminal was quite empty, however this should change soon.
The check-in machine was pretty easy to handle and I received my boarding pass within a few moments.

Before proceeding to the security checks I decided to enjoy a cup of coffe - and because of this the seating area at Gate 2 (where we should depart) and 3 (some poor fellows waiting for their delayed Easyjet Airbus to Gatwick) was totally crowded when I arrived there.
Well, there was quite some space at the BA gate at the other end of the terminal…

Boarding & Takeoff
The boarding began with only a few minutes delay, our aircraft was D-AECF, the same one as on the outbound flight.
Next to us stood this FlyBe DHC-8 Q400…

The seats are pretty good for a flight of two hours, they don't look really comfy though.

Is it just my imagination or is the seat pitch in Eco less than Business? Apart from that, it is really enough for this flight.

Loading the bags into the cargo lot still took a few more minutes while some drops of rain showed up.

After taking off to the north, we made a nearly 180°-turn towards Frankfurt…

…which meant I was able to take a photo of the airport through the clouds.

Catering service
A few minutes after the seatbelt signs went off, the catering service started.
For meal you could choose between rye bread with cheese or with pastrami and egg, I took the latter one which was a good decision. It was a bit small but quite tasty.

Great view for lunch…

After that drinks were offered and I took beer as well as tomato juice with salt and pepper - excellent :-D

Back in Frankfurt
Around 20 minutes after finishing my meal the descent to Frankfurt began.

While approaching to runway 25R, I had a great view to Frankfurt city during sunset, between the skycrapers and the main river you can easily find the main railway station of Frankfurt.

The landing was on time and pretty smooth!

The Embraer was parked somewhere in or nearby the cargo area next to those two beautiful Lufthansa Cargo MD-11 freighters.

As usual on a LH Cityline flight we were brought to the terminal by bus which took quite some time.
I wasn't surprised at all that we had to wait some more minutes for receiving our bags again, they must have been pretty busy down here as many flights arrive at FRA during this time.

The train connection back to my hometown became some kind of adventure this time, but with a good amount of luck I arrived at home nearly as planned :-)
Thank You for coming around and reading this Flight report :-)
