Back to Korea.. after a few months.
The end of March was problematic in Korea due to to the high pollution from China. The government sent messages to people to wear the mask and avoid outdoor activities.

Arrival at ICN new terminal 2 / Impressive terminal but quite empty. A lot of capacity at ICN with the brand new and shiny building

As we bought some articles online on duty-free, we went straight after check in to the duty-free pick up counter ( after passport control ) to collect our items.

We had around 1.30 mins till the flight departed so it was time to look around the airport

And finally, our plane bound for Bali, an 18 years old Airbus.
Most of the passengers were Koreans and there were a considerable number of Russians passengers too. I did not know that this route is popular for the Russians living in the far-east of the Russian Federation. This is a niche market for Korean Air.

Boarding

The cabin was in really good condition despite the age of the plane, better maintained than a 7 years EK A380…

Pitch I would say its the best in the industry! 34 in. I m 1.92cm tall and it was soo comfy !!

Soon after departure, drink service started followed by food.
Meals were quite regular, low quality I would say. I expected more from KAL…

The ice cream on board was a nice touch for this 7 hours flight.

Over Taiwan

2 hours after departure, and after the lunch service was done, I called the cabin crew to request a gin-tonic. I was pretty shocked that they brought to me already mixed. Normally on EK they give you a soda can and a small bottle of beefeter so you can mix it, but not in the case of KAL..

What it really pissed me off , is that they limit the number of spirits you can drink on board. When I ordered my 3rd one they said I should take it easy and they will not serve more.
Excuse me? :/

And finaly, after 7 hours of flight we landed at DPS airport.

Due to our late arrival we decided to stay the first night in the airport hotel, NOVOTEL.

Conclusion

It was good flights with pros and cons:

Cons:

1) Excellent cabin crew, I was impressed that seconds after you press the call button they come to your seat unless Emirates or Airfrance where sometimes you have to wait 10 minutes.
2) Pitch is awesome. One of the main reasons I fly with Korean Air.
3) The plane was really clean and in the toilet they were providing free toothbrush and toothpaste for this intra-Asian flight

Pros:

1) The portions of the meals were small compared to Emirates or Airfrance and tasteless.
2) Shocked by the rule of no more than 3 gintonics- " we are afraid of your health, we don't want you to cause a problem on the flight???" strange rule

Great legroom indeed.

Catering is usually better on KE but at least you did not get the bibimbap for a change.

I guess the drink policy had to do with the many russians onboard...
