Greetings and welcome to another flight report! Today, I will be reviewing a WOW air flight from LGW to KEF. Keep in mind, in light of the relatively recent bankruptcy of WOW air, the airline has ceased to exist. Anyways, back to the flight report. I took the train from London directly to the airport. It was a reasonably efficient process, though the fact that Gatwick is so far from London can be a deal breaker for some.

I had issues with seat assignments and ended up calling WOW up trying to change them, though was able to change them eventually and got them to show on my mobile boarding pass. I had booked a "WOW Comfy" fare, since it had better amenities that the lower costing "WOW Plus," and "WOW Basic" fares. It ended up costing less than the "WOW Plus" fare that I had previously been eyeing, due to a website glitch. When I got to the check-in desk to drop my bags I was noted that my seat assignments were given up due to a system issue.

I was instructed to notify the gate agent and get them to sort it out. After check-in, I went straight to security, which an had unusually short line. When the gate agent scanned my boarding pass, I told her my predicament and she immediately followed me to the plane and proceeded to evict the person in my seat. Normally, I would've let the person just keep my seat, but I was in an "XXL" seat, so I was not about to give it up! After the whole seating debacle, I sat down in my seat, which had extremely generous legroom (similar to domestic first class in the United States). The seats had AC and USB plugs and was otherwise a standard economy seat.

I absolutely loved the cute branding that WOW Air has in every aspect of your experience with them.

Soon boarding was complete and the door was shut. On our lengthy taxi, I got a glimpse of a Virgin Atlantic 747-400 and a 737 from the now defunct airline, Privat Air.

Shortly after takeoff, the flight attendants commenced their buy on board service. I had a tea which was served in an amusing cup.

The flight attendants then dissipeared for the rest of the flight.

On the final approach, we got a great view of the Icelandic coastline.

After a short taxi, we parked next to a virtually brand new Wow air A320neo.

I proceeded to deplane and walked through Reykjavik's terminal until I got to Joe and the Juice, where I had a ginger shot and waited for my flight to BWI.

Conclusion

WOW air was a decent option to travel with, especially because of the great legroom, though the flight attendants weren't that friendly or attentive.
