Hello everyone,
I meet you for a quite exceptional trip. Indeed, having to visit several friends in a rather limited time, I set out for a round the world trip, which I tried to have as much as possible. This has the following routing:
Enchainement de vols
- 1AF983 - Economique - Paris → Tel Aviv - Airbus A350
- 2
- 3
- 4
- 5VA56 - Economique - Port-Vila → Brisbane - Boeing 737-800
- 6VA986 - Economique - Brisbane → Sydney - Boeing 737-800
- 7QF11 - Economique - Sydney → Los Angeles - Airbus A380-800
- 8DL2267 - Economique - Los Angeles → San Francisco - Airbus A320
- 9AF083 - Economique - San Francisco → Paris - Boeing 777-300 ER
After a few days spent on the island of Efate (main island of Vanuatu), it’s time to return to Sydney.
At the view of the size of the airport, we arrive with 2h advance to VLI

Passage in front of the Cargo terminal

Before reaching the international terminal

The check-in hall is divided between Air Vanuatu (which also records for Air Fiji) and Virgin Australia.
Despite 4 open counters, the luggage drop will be very long.
(photo taken at the end of recording)

The VLI (international) FIDS, not the most loaded of the trip!

Several shops are available to travellers before passing security.
Good point for a airport of this size

Before passing security, I notice that a domestic terminal is available and attracts my attention

It is located in the international terminal

This one seems to involve much more flight to the secondary islands of Vanuatu, including air taxis available

Back to boarding, the PAF will be very long with 2 customs officers posted.
Several passengers will complain about the call at the last boarding of our flight, while there are still about 20 people in the queue.
The PIF will pass him quickly, noting that the PIF conveyor belt will not work, as does the baggage check-in conveyor belt.
We arrive in the boarding room, empty at the last call

Other local stores will be present for last minute purchases

And here is our B737-800 VA, alone in the middle of the tarmac

Some small "domestic" aircraft

Boarding through front and rear doors under a radiant sun

Zoom on one of the two CFM56-7B

Our plane is named "mona vale beach"

Doar time

Fuselage shot

Pass through the 2 rows of Business

My seat, the 13F

This one is located in the emergency exit.
It is very appreciable for these 3 hours of crossing the Pacific

The cover offers to connect to the in-flight entertainment service.
Try later in flight

the bob menu is also available.
All at a price, it seems to me, very reasonable

The ceiling light appears to indicate that the device is still young

We’ll leave on time.
Direct entry to the track

Then, turn around

It’s off under this paradise setting

Then, turn right.
We leave Vanuatu by flying over Port Vila

Then, cruise on the Pacific Ocean in a beautiful sun

Free water, tea and coffee will be provided.
To the health of the FRists

Then, very quickly, the same bio-safety announcement as when returning to Australia will be broadcast, this time without screens.
The same declaration form must be completed

The flight continues under the same landscape.
It will be unfortunately impossible for us to see New Caledonia

After 1 hour of flight, the chief cabin officer makes an announcement to let us know that the entertainment system has finished its reboot, and is now available.

This one offers a rather large choice of film, and does not require to download an application

Flight tracking is also available

Outside, the sun sets

And the moodlightning is adapted in cabin

Beautiful sunset, during the approach on BNE

Left turn approaching Australia
Arrival on BNE strongly seems to NCE

Set on time.
An announcement will be made to indicate the importance of VA being on time to enable connections.
And, for good reason, almost all the flight will be in correspondence.
My flight to SYD leaves in 1h30 from the domestic terminal.
Can feel the race…

In the distance, we see a beautiful A380 EK in special livery

And, lucky we’ll park next to him
I let you enjoy all the angles of taking

And disembarkation, taking care to immortalize the A380 one last time

Goodbye to the crew who were very correct during this flight.
Then, the race begins at BNE

Passing a B777 Qatar

The inevitable duty free arrival

Passport control will be extremely fast as at SYD
Another very good point for Australian airports.
However, although my suitcase has been tagged up to SYD, it will be mandatory for us to retrieve it.
Pass the health inspection and re-register.
Now, I think our correspondence is hanging by a thread

The health inspection will be very effective with 30 open windows.
All our plane will be searched his suitcase, but again time lost, and it does not seem to shock anyone in the airport staff, who think we will have our connection.
I leave you at the check-in for domestic baggage at the international terminal.
We have 50 min before our departure for SYD

Thank you for reading me
See you soon for the rest of the trip

Very cool to see a report from Vanuatu, very rare! VA offer a pretty solid product for these shorter international flights. Nice to have the Wi-Fi and the free streaming IFE. I also like BNE airport. A convenient airport for connections in my limited experience.
Thanks for sharing!
