Avis du vol entre Dallas/Fort Worth et Istanbul en classe Economique avec Turkish Airlines

Introduction

Welcome back to Winged Reviews! During the spring I had the chance to travel with Turkish Airlines on their 787-9 going from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to Istanbul International Airport. We had a 2 hour layover in Istanbul before traveling to Dubai. This was one of the cooler trips I have been on because I normally fly with American Airlines but American Airlines does not have flights to Dubai. I really wanted to fly direct with Emirates but it was too expensive (Hopefully next time). 

Check-In and Security

If you are frying with Turkish Airlines out of DFW you have to use a check-in desk. The check-In was fast and easy because we did not have any checked bags. They did check our carry ones to make sure they were the right size and they gave us some little tags to put on them. The security was very efficient and did not take more than 10 minutes. This flight was going out of the international terminal (terminal D). This is where all of the best lounges are!

Lounge

Our economy ticket did not come with any lounge access but if you have a credit card like the Capital one credit card then you access the capital One lounge in terminal D. There was a waitlist of about 30 minutes before we could enter but we ended up getting called around 20 minutes later. The lounge is pretty good. It has a lot of amenities like free food, drinks, a gym, praying room, and a few showers you can book on request at no extra cost.

This is the Turkish 787-9 that will be taking us to Istanbul today! It is registered as TC-LLE. It is 5 years old.

Gate and Boarding

Now that the plane has arrived lets head to the gate and get boarded. Welcome to our home for the next 11 hours, this is seat 13A, a window seat towards the front of the economy class cabin. 

The IFE screen is modern and pretty big. It comes with two headphone jacks and a USB port. The screen is also adjustable. 

The leg room is pretty good and the seat is not to crampet. 

The seat back pocket is not very sturdy and cant hold a lot of heavy items.

The seat also has an adjustable headrest. 

On the seat waiting for me was a pretty comfy blanket and some great headphones. Normally in economy you just get some earbuds but these were actually headphones, they were not to bad. 

Taxi and Takeoff

In no time we were pushing back and getting ready for takeoff!

Shortly after takeoff the flight attendants came around and handed out amenity kits. This is one of the only airlines I know of that give amenity kits to economy class so that is pretty cool. 

It had all of the standard things like socks, slippers, earplugs, toothbrush and toothpaste, lip balm, and an eye mask. 

Dinner Service

They also handed out menus for todays flight.

Turkish Airlines does meal service a little different, instead of starting from the front and working back. They assign each flight attendant a section of the cabin with one cart. We were row 13 and when the FA got to our row they had run out of pasta. The other option was the cod but I do not eat fish and I would not really trust it on a plane. They did offer me on of the options on the breakfast menu so I picked the pancakes. They were ok and could use some more flavor, they were also pretty dry. One thing I liked about the meal service was the metal cutlery. It was a nice touch and just elevated the whole meal. 

They offered my mom the shrimp from business class which was very nice of them. She said it was really good and it sure did. 

Now it’s time to check out the inflight entertainment. This plane had a great selection of movies and most of them were in English. You should have no problem finding stuff to watch. Also the headphones were pretty good quality. 

Next let’s check out the lavatories. I went up the the one right behind the business section and it was pretty clean. The lavatory was pretty standard but it did come with a bottle of cologne. 

This was a red eye flight so I decided to sleep for the rest of the flight and I woke up around the time they were serving breakfast. Since I had had the pancakes for dinner I decided to have the eggs for breakfast. Before the meal service started the flight attendant came around and asked what we would like to eat to make sure they did not run out. The eggs were not to bad but they were a little dry. 

In no time we had landed in a nice smooth landing at Istanbul international airport. We had a great view of the engine. 

The taxi time was pretty long but we had a few hours before our connecting flight to Dubai on Turkish's A330 so stay tuned for that review or follow my YouTube Winged Reviews because that review is already out.
