Our journey at Heathrow started after we left our hotel and made our way to the First Wing and the Concorde room for breakfast

Our breakfast kippers were tasty, especially accompanied by a glass of champagne. We rounded off our experience by having another at the bar before heading to the gate. So far, so good.

Once onboard we settled in and was given the usual amenities, sleep suit, wash bag, slippers and a menu, featuring the infamous 'Brunch' which is a new 'down graded' feature!
The crew looking after us were wonderful and once underway we had a glass of champagne and a tasty amouse- bouche, which I followed up with a delicious creamy soup.

My main course was a well presented Chicken Wellington, I didn't fancy any of the other main course offerings and I accompanied this with a recommended glass of red bordeaux. I was well satisfied. The crew were so professional but friendly and we enjoyed their company so much so we had a selfie with them!

As the flight progressed I had a nap and was awoken by galley activity which was the service of afternoon tea, oh so British and was exquisitely presented with a lovely cup of tea. Happy me!
New York is a shortish flight and soon it was time for landing, but not before I indulged in a little Cognac. Despite us not having the latest First Suites with doors, I for sure was comfortable and we were well looked after. Well done the crew on BA185. On the other hand when we arrived in Newark we were queuing in immigration for about 2 hrs!!!

Thankfully our driver was waiting and a slow journey into the heart of New York saw us delivered safefully to our hotel and our Fifth Avenue view. Home in 2 days time.

Hi there, thanks for sharing your first review here with us! The Concorde room is always lovely. Flights to the East Coast are almost too short to properly enjoy a full First class service and still have time to relax, but it’s much better on one of these westbound day flights than a London bound redeye.
Sounds like you had a great cabin crew and that really is what keeps me flying BA. I consistently have great experiences with wonderful cabin crews. Ground staff is another story haha.
I’ve also heard before that the new Brunch service is a downgrade in service but I don’t really see it. Service was never quite recovered to pre-pandemic levels in either First or Club in the first place. The one thing that I do notice to be missing is the canapés. They’ve been discontinued and reintroduced several times at this point. I can’t keep up haha. Perhaps canapés just don’t go with “brunch”.
Do you remember what champagne they were serving on board? Ever since they stopped serving the LPGS it seems to be hit or miss.
Thanks again for sharing and looking forward to future reviews. Welcome!
Hi
The champagne was Lanson Noble Brut Vintage/Blanc de Blancs 2005. Personally when I am served a meal at lunch time I do not want poached eggs or pancakes, just my personal preference and thankfully the chicken was good and the cabin crew apologised for the change of menu. The 3 different canapes have been replaced by the amouse- bouche and was tasty. It is odd though that the starters are similar to what you would be offered for lunch, albeit without the salad option and then be offered 2 typically breakfast options apart from a cold salad and my chicken!
