Introduction
This would be a rather simple flight report but still i would like to type this here. (see if i would type other flight reports here lol )
After a two week time in Japan, enjoying the snowy scenery at Hokkaido, it was time to fly back to Hong kong. I picked a flight from Asahikawa in Hokkaido and landed in Haneda, Tokyo. And so I would need to take a train to travel from Haneda to Narita to get my flight back to Hong Kong. Picking JR NEX is not a good choice compare with Skyliner, but then as i needed to stop at Tokyo Station to do some shopping, it would be a better choice to get to the airport afterwards.

At the Airport
This time i redeemed a premium economy class ticket to be back to Hong Kong. At Narita Airport that you would need to use the self-service kiosk and self-service bag drop counter for the check in and bag drop at Narita for Economy and Premium Economy Class Passenger of CX. But dont worry, there are still some ground staff available nearby to provide assistance to passengers in need.

Things go quite smoothly. The ground staff just also asked to give her the boarding pass to have a check before I made a self bag drop.
"Check your boarding pass carefully for the coming flight! " The ground staff said something similar to me, and which i feel a little bit odd and puzzled. I stopped and read through my boarding pass and still had no clue on what it was so special such that she needed to remind me such thing.

"You are so lucky today! Congratulations that we've upgraded you to the business class seat today! But please be reminded that we only upgrade you for the seat and you are not entitled to enter the lounge, enjoy your flight"

Ha, Finally i just realised that it is a boarding pass for my business class seat!!!!! It was not my first time to try on the Cathay Pacific business class product, but still it was totally a nice upgrade to the business class for this flight. As i would arrive in Hong Kong at 2AM, it would be definitely a nice thing to have a nicer seat on the plane, and to have a solid sleep for such flight!
But hold on, i remember that this is a A330 plane flying back to Hong Kong. Not sure if it is a regional business class setting, which does not offer flat lie bed but something like premium economy class seats. I just go to the Cathay mobile application to check for my flight seating plan and still did not get a clue.

Ok, anyway , just move to the airside then.
At the Airside
Although i did not get permission to the lounge, i didnt quite mind of that, as there seems not much special for the lounge of Cathay Pacific at Narita Airport. I know there is a JAL Sakura Lounge at Narita which offers a much better service, but it is fine as i have tried that before, and having a better seat to be back to hong kong was already a nice thing.
But still there are some shops, restaurants at Narita Airport for you to enjoy after the immigration counters.


During that time was the harvesting season of strawberry. I tried the strawberry dessert there. Yummy!
Getting on the Plane

Today the plane got boarding from gate 71. Before the flight i received another email from CX saying that was an important message for my flight. Actually it was an email mentioning that they would try on the new boarding system for my flight on the airport. Similar to other airlines, passengers are divided into several boarding groups according to the membership status and the class. But seems i dont quite find it different compare with before, as people would just to line up before the boarding. in my memory that it works quite well at the other airports. Maybe it was just because of the habit of Hong Kong passengers ? lol not sure about that

Have a look on the bird that takes me back to Hong Kong. Since i still cannot get some information on the identity of the plane, still not sure whether it is at regional business class setting . You know, it is quite common for CX to get flight change at the last moment.

There was a welcome drink and hot towel service after i sat down. The flight attendant also come and take notes on my preference for the dinner.

Here is a closer look of the remote, the seat control, the power outlet etc on the right hand side of the seat. They advertised before that they offered some water with less amount of packaging, so you would see a bottle of water without any packaging in the photo.




The inflight entertainment system was not upgraded for this flight, and so you would still see the old fashioned interface and map interface of StudioCX on this flight. it was a little bit lagging, but still no problem as i did not plan to use it or enjoy movies or music for this flight.

Yet, having the new version of the safety video on Cathay. Personally i love the SQ one more, the music there brings a more comfortable and relaxing feeling than that of CX.

Let's see what's for dinner
There was quite lots of turbulence after departing from Narita and even when flying above Shikoku, Japan. The captain made announcement on this and reminded us to fasten the seat belt , and the cabin crew to be seated. And the dinner service finally started.

Nuts , peanuts were distributed first, with my favourite Cathay Delight at CX flights.

The dinner starts with seasonal salad with Yuzu dressing, green tea soba noodle with maitake mushroom, and smoked duck with mayonnaise, grilled prawns and mixed vegetables. I also picked the garlic bread.

Here comes with the main. It is cod with ginger garlic sauce, with snap peas, carrot and steamed jasmine rice. All are quite delicious and so i finished them all.

To end with the dinner , we had a ice cream and seasonal fresh fruit. i forgot if it was because i started eating the fruit plane before i took the photo. seems a little strange for the fruit plane photo.

i do not like drinking beer, but i love the design of the can of Betsy, the signature locally brewed craft beer of Cathay Pacific !

After the meal service, it was time to get to the bed, i enjoyed a solid 2 to 3 hour sleep for the flight. When i woke up, it was the announcement of 30 minutes left for landing by the captain.

And i did not manage to get a priority tag of business class for my luggage, and surprisingly that i found that there was one when the luggage come out at HKG. My luggage came out within 5 minutes i guess and so i could get to the airport hotel fast, to have a sleep before entering the city in the morning.
