This report is from March 2025. I transited through Indore on the way to Kolkata with Air India Express, Read the flight report - Air India Express IX2887 Hyderabad to Indore.
I had received the boarding pass in Hyderabad and my bag was checked till the final destination.
Transit time between flights was 3hrs.
Pre-Departure / Online Check-in
Ticket booked through Air India Express website. I chose the seat for the flight at the time of booking. Online check was completed for the Indore and Kolkata flight together.
Being a night flight, didn't matter which side was chosen. I had selected seat 4F for this flight.

I reached the check-in area after showing the boarding pass to the security inside the terminal.

Security check
As it was busy and crowded, I decided to enter the departure area. Security check is located on level 1 and escalator is available for going up and down.
Security was crowded as well with people in queue.It took about 10mins to clear the security.
Departure Area
After clearing security entered the departure area.
It was busy as well. Indigo was boarding Ahmadabad bound passengers.
I was feeling hungry and entered the restaurant.
Ordered masala dosa and chai.
After meal, I found a quiet corner and sat for sometime.

Boarding Gate
I waited near the boarding gate as departure time was close.
Checked flightradar24 to get aircraft information.
Aircraft arrived at 8.49pm
Time was 20.51 and screen displayed security.

Boarding call announcement around 9p.m. Boarding was by row numbers.

I joined the boarding queue.
Seated in the forward section, I was able to board at the end.

Seat view, my co-passenger was a 5-6yr kid, who said "Uncle, you need to wear belt". His mom stopped him and kept him engaged in mobile phone. I avoided engaging with the kid seeing the mothers reaction.

Seat pocket contained the menu and air sickness bag, I wondered where the safety card was. Found later the kid has placed it in his seat pocket.

Pushback and taxi
Aircraft pushbacked around 9.35pm. Being a single runway airport with little traffic, the delay did not impact the departure.
Crew performed the safety demonstration. Light was turned off for take-off.
There is no taxiway, Aircraft taxied on runway25-07 and turned 360 degrees.

Cabin service
Crew commenced Buy on Board [BOB] Service 15mins after departure. I got a masala chai for Rs200. Paid in cash.
Finished the chai and placed in the cup holder.
I had to keep self engaged, checked the air speed for entertainment.
Cabin light changed to moodlighting for resting.

Aircraft landed 25mins.
Alliance Air and Spicejet Dash400's
Exited runway and parked in remote parking bay next to a company Boeing 737-8 Max.
Disembarkation
Disembarkation for the flight was by stairs. Probably aircraft would overnight in Kolkata. Ramp used for disembarkation. View of the nose wheel while disembarking.
Bus ride to terminal
I boarded when the bus was already full and had to find a standing spot. View of aircraft from bus. Bus took about 5 mins to reach the terminal.
Domestic arrivals
Deboarded the bus and walked inside the terminal.
Followed the signage for baggage belt.
Baggage belt was at the far end.

Transport information
Bag arrived in 5-10mins. It was already past midnight.
Not many passengers had checked bag.
I sat down near the belt as I could see the bag on the belt.

I got the bag and walked towards the exit.
Walking out through Gate 3B.
Transport and Hotel
I had checked online and knew the hotel was close to the airport. Its actual a 15min short walk. As it was late night, I didn't want to risk walking in a unfamiliar place.
I booked taxi through Ola app. The driver asked if I wanted to got the Hotel. I got confused and said no, he then showed my name on the phone. I understood he was the driver I was calling.
I sat in the taxi and the driver said since the car was in parking, I would have to pay Rs 100 for the parking fee. I didn't know the that parking charge was built in the booking. I said OK.
The fare was Rs285. While exiting he deliberately drove to the parking charge collector and took a parking ticket and kept it.
I didn't like the vibe of the driver, could feel that he was greedy from this talk. I kept him engaged asking how long he was driving and so on.
Anyway he dropped me at the hotel after 10min. I paid him the agreed fare and I didn't tip him and took the change.
I became cautious, It wasn't about the money as it was small change. It was about honesty.
Entered the hotel, scanned the bag and reached reception. Handed the passport and visa and got the key.
Reached room and went to sleep.
