Welcome to the fourth and last part of this series! This part will cover the last leg of the return trip, Munich (MUC) to Stockholm (ARN) onboard a Lufthansa A320-211 (D-AIPE).

Part 4 - MUC-ARN (LH2414 Lufthansa Airbus A320-211 D-AIPE) You are here

I have had a really great experience with Lufthansa so far and I hope I still receive great service on my last flight with them in a long time (probably). I guess we'll see!

We had a connection time of 3 hours and 15 minutes at Munich, our gate would be at the G-gates so we went towards those gates.
photo rsz_20150412_061559photo rsz_20150412_062216_2

Our gate would be G30 according to this FIDS but that would change once we got closer to our scheduled departure time.
photo rsz_20150412_062225_1

Neither me or my dad like to do shopping, therefore we decided to go to G30 immediately after arrival. I guess my mother and sister would do some shopping or at least look around, if they were here.

My dad was tired and decided to rest at the gate. I walked around and did some spotting to burn some time.

Spotting at MUC.

This was our ride to Stockholm-Arlanda, a Lufthansa Airbus A320-211 (D-AIPE). I actually did a little bit of shopping, bought a Lufthansa Boeing 747-8i (scale 1:500) from a LH worldshop that was located close to our gate.
photo rsz_20150412_073958

As you can see there was a gate change to G32, G30 and G32 were pretty close to each other so it wasn't a big deal. There seemed to be quite a lot of people at the gate, we would probably have a decent load on this flight. Eventually boarding began and as always, business and Star Alliance gold members first, then the rest. Boarding was done on-time and efficiently.

Sorry for the bad shot but that's all I got.

The load factor on this flight was 100%, every seat was taken.

Legroom was great on this A320, more than enough for this flight. I'm 177cm tall.

We got a view of Munich Airport (MUC) a minute or two after we took off.

The service began approximately 30 minutes after departure. We had the choice of the same chocolate bread or chocolate croissant that I had on my flight from Stockholm to Munich (LH2421) or a sandwich. I went with the sandwich as I wanted to try something new.
photo rsz_20150412_091603

It was a sandwich with curd cucumber. It was quite tasty, better than the chocolate croissant. The breakfast/snack service was followed by a drink service. I went with orange juice and water as always. The flight attendants were very friendly, attentive and professional as expected after three flights with amazing crew. Both me and my father were very tired, he kind of slept on the whole flight. I closed my eyes and tried to get some rest after the sandwich. I got about 30 minutes of sleep.

Of course the first thing I see after landing at Arlanda is a SAS plane.

We only had one piece of luggage. My oldest sister and her husband came to pick us up. We were at home by 11:45. The weather was very boring after we landed but it got better a few hours later.

This was the plane I bought at MUC, it's my 18th Lufthansa model plane. I hope you enjoyed this flight report :).

Note: Can't comment on access and parking at Munich, just left a 7,5.

Conclusion

I'm very satisfied with this round-trip with Lufthansa. The crew are among the best I have ever seen. All of them were very professional and helpful. The seat was comfortable on this short flight, the legroom was also great for me. The sandwich wasn't bad on this flight, at least better than the chocolate croissant (read LH2421). We landed exactly on-time at Stockholm as expected. I will consider flying with Lufthansa on my next trip, especially if the price is right!

Thanks for sharing this series finale with us!

The last time I was in MUC was 2007, it looks a lot different than I remember. Looks like MUC was pretty quiet when you were there, not a lot of diversity and ground movements. Most people hate the CA livery, but I like that classic look. Same with that really good looking LO E-Jet, that livery just looks good on that plane. Good quality spotting pictures (even though MUC doesn't look too spotter friendly).

Pitch looks okay on LH, and the cabins you have had (except for the A340) have all been very clean and new looking, so much different than the beat-up AZ cabins. These reports have been interesting in that they differ from my impressions of LH, it is a much better product than I remember.

That's nice that they give you an option for the catering. Most airlines would probably just give you the pastry, so to have a sandwich option is good (although I don't personally know how I feel about curd cucumber haha).

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I've never heard of KF (even though apparently they are in *A). The SK B737s look real pretty, it might just be growing up in the US, but Airbus narrow bodies just don't look as good as a 737 w/ winglets.

I saw your Fanhansa Siegerflieger special livery LH 747-8 at PEK (a picture will be in the AUH-NGO report). What a strange model display! Why is it all NH planes (with a JL on the runway)? Is this dedicated to me, lol?

Thanks for sharing this series with us, and we hope that you come back in the future to share more!

The A321 with sharklets looks really good IMO.
      - Yes, those are the only Airbus planes that I like. Thankfully, they aren't common in the US or Japan so I can always enjoy my Boeing 738s :) They are also some A319s with sharklets that look okay.

It's supposed to be a fictional airport at Tokyo, that terminal on the picture is the terminal that NH uses.
      - Ahhh, okay. I thought you took this picture when you bought the model in MUC, which was why it seemed so confusing.

I'm booked on QR ARN-DOH-BKK and SIN-DOH-BKK on the 787, A388 and A359! I will maybe make a FR about that trip.
      - That's quite the sampling of exotic aircraft, looking forward to them.

Thank you for your nice comment :).

It was indeed very quiet at T2. Finally someone that shares the same opinion with me about the CA livery. Always liked their livery, very classy, especially on the 747-8i! It indeed looks great on the E-195, really like these classic liveries! Thank you! I believe there is a viewer's terrace at MUC but I don't think it was open at that time. You still have to look through windows though.

Yep, all except the A346 had fairly clean cabins (especially the A333). I didn't really expect it to be such a nice experience :).

Wasn't really too excited about it either after I read 'curd cucumber' on the wrapper but it was a bit better than expected.

Well, they aren't one the most known airlines on the planet. Their fleet of 717s will be gone, the remaining ones will be sold to DL and V7 (Volotea). Instead, they will receive five 737-600s from SK. The SK livery is pretty boring if you ask me, seen it too much at ARN ;). The A321 with sharklets looks really good IMO. However, I kind of agree with you. 737s (especially 738s and 739s) look really good with winglets. The design of the 737 winglets is great.

Well, I can't wait to see that report! This is just one portion of my model airport. It's supposed to be a fictional airport at Tokyo, that terminal on the picture is the terminal that NH uses. The LH 748 wasn't supposed to be there but I was too lazy to put it on the correct spot.

I'm booked on QR ARN-DOH-BKK and SIN-DOH-BKK on the 787, A388 and A359! I will maybe make a FR about that trip.

Thank you for your nice comment :).

It was indeed going back to WAW, as LO376.
It's supposed to be completed by this year, according to MUC's website.
