I decided to head out to visit some friends down under during the final two weeks of my semester break! Here's the flight report documenting my trip there.

So I'm travelling with my mum today while she goes to Sydney for a business trip/short vacation. I'm very excited to be flying on an A380 for the first time ever and on the upper deck!

Seeing that my mum is a frequent flyer and PPS Club member, she got me access to the SilverKris Lounge too. The lounge is extremely large and spacious. We found a corner table and went in search of some refreshments.
The chilled food section.

The hot food section.

An assortment of mini pizzas, pies and tarts.

My selection of hot food from the buffet.

More pictures of the lounge interior.

Heading towards the gate.

Onboard the massive aircraft, looking out to a gloomy evening.

A picture of SQ's great economy seat.

I like the configuration of this seat. The little cubby hole also serves as a big armrest or small side table!

Oshibori service by the SQ crew.

Pushback commenced!

The menus are distributed.

Bye bye Changi! See you in 2 weeks!

Obligatory safety card shot.

First movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron. Finally managed to watch this movie.

Upper deck economy class is in 2-4-2 configuration.

Take-off and we're on our way to Australia.

Amenity kits are given out once the plane levels off.

Socks, toothbrush and toothpaste.

Let's take a look at the menu.

No more headsets! SQ has moved on to earbuds although I must say that they're terribly uncomfortable.

Another POV shot.

Beer and peanuts! Just the way I enjoy beginning my evenings.

Dinner is served about an hour and a half into the flight. I opted for the curry fish as it was a special to celebrate Singapore's Golden Jubilee and I must say that it was pretty good! The salad was good although you'd expect this standard from SQ. I picked a white wine to accompany my meal.

The lights are dimmed to allow passengers to rest after the meal service.

Continuing our journey across Indonesia.

KrisWorld entertainment system.

After the meal, I watched The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch. I thought it was a great show.
Popped off to the loo after the movie to relieve myself before sleeping.

The cabin is now completely dark and most passengers are asleep. I took the liberty to get a double shot of Bailey's before heading back to my seat and falling asleep.

Woke up to breakfast. Bun and muffin with some fruit. Ate the fruits and left the other items alone before sleeping again.

Breakfast was served somewhere above the middle of the Australian continent.

Woke up again during landing but was pretty much half-asleep. Exited the plane as quickly as I could so that I could avoid the long queues at immigration.
Couple of shots of Sydney Kingsford. It's very quiet during the early morning.

Thank you for sharing your flight experience.
You confirm that all-white boarding pass ex-SIN are now standard as well as the format.
Too bad the airline decided to drop the colour-based BPs.
Pitch on upper deck looks great as well as the side compartments which increase the comfort.
Your report proves that Singapore Airlines IS a great way to fly, no matter which class of travel.
I'm not sure about the boarding passes. I checked-in with my mum who was in Business Class so maybe it was just that they didn't offer the coloured BPs there. :)
Thank you for sharing this FR with us!
The lounge doesn't look bad from your pictures, it seems to have a decent selection of hot and cold food.
The tray the meal comes in is quite large compared to trays I've seen on other airlines. It sounds like your meal was pretty good! The breakfast service looks pretty normal on this flight.
Overall this seems like a standard flight on SQ, which is a good thing as they have quite high standards compared to many other airlines. Would love to try them out on longer flights like this one. The A380 is also a wonderful aircraft to fly on and together with SQ's service makes for a very satisfying flying experience. I've only flown with them on the KUL-SIN route which is very short, you don't get to fully experience their service on short flights like that.
SQ really is top notch when it comes to service. I've never had a bad flight with them.
