No matter what happened, I still love Malaysia Airlines. This time, I travelled with MH from KUL to DEL with my dad and my sister. For my sister and me, it's OK to fly with MH. We both flew MH even after MH370. This time was 7 months after MH17. At first, I told my dad that we would fly with MH. He hesitated a little bit. I told him that the airline was in crisis and if someone was in crisis, we should help them. He totally agreed.
It was lucky for us. The RT ticket from KUL to DEL and back was just 600USD. It was Business Promo fare. Amazing. We flew from SGN to KUL the day before and transited in KL before going to India.
From KL, we took the express train to KLIA. We did the check-in at the City Air Terminal in downtown KL. The luggages were transferred to KL and we just went straight to the airport.
At the airport, we passed the immigration and cleared the security quite fast because there was priority lane for business class passengers. We went straight to Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge for business class passengers.
The lounge is very nice, spacious and comfortable. I'm not a stranger to this lounge. The food was good also. I chose a table near the window so I could take photos of the air planes on the tarmac. I love the fish noodle here. You should try it if you have a chance to access into this lounge.
The flight was on time. I was welcomed with fruit juice. My dad and I chose pink guava. I didn't know what my sister chose cos she sat behind us. The business class cabin was full on that flight. Malaysia Airlines Airbus A330-300 seats are quite comfortable and can be reclined to flat bed although they are angle lie flat seats. No problem. It was just 5 hour flight and it was good enough.
The rest room:
The flight took off on time and the meal service was served not long after that. Peanuts and drink were served while we were waiting for appetizer to come. I couldn't wait to enjoy Malaysia Airlines' signature dish, the Satay or Malaysian grilled chicken and lamb skewers in spicy peanut sauce. The flight attendants started serving one by one with the satay. Passengers can choose chicken, lamb or mixed. Seriously, the satay was super excellent. Singapore Airlines also has the satay but my friend, who experienced both MH and SQ, said that MH's satay is much better. In 2013, MH received the award for ‘Best Airline Signature Dish’ for its Satay at Paris Airshow. No wonder it tasted so good. Such an impression.
For my dad, I ordered the special meal for him because he's vegetarian. I ordered vegetarian lacto ovo meal for him (VOLM). And here is his appetizer and salad.
And my salad and bread.
For main course, I chose Grilled Garoupa with Herbs Meuneira Sauce. The fish was so so. I'm not a fan of fish. But I love the meal presentation.
My dad's main course was something I didn't know. After the meal, dessert was served for my dad along with his VOLM meal.
For my turn, I wasn't served dessert and tea after the meal because the airplane was passing through turbulence. Actually, the flight attendants were serving dessert and tea then the plane hit the turbulence and they temporarily stopped. Not a problem for me because I was so full then. But they served me tea eventually when I watched movies on the screen. Then, I turned the seat to flat bed mode and took a rest before landing. The flight attendants were so nice and friendly. I took photos with them and talked to them a lot. We talked about Vietnamese food. I introduced the Vietnamese restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, the Sao Nam restaurant in Bukit Bintang.
We landed safe and sound at Delhi.
My dad and I at Taj Mahal:
Here is the video report in case you want to take a look.
Thank you for sharing this FR with us!
I told him that the airline was in crisis and if someone was in crisis, we should help them. - I really like that, not many people think like that nowadays!
Catering doesn't look bad, I feel like the portion of the main could be bigger. It's nice to hear you got full though, I guess the satay helped.
I'm glad you had a good flight with MH!
I hope you enjoyed your stay in India, nice bonus pics!
Have a good one, see you!
Thanks so much for your reading. :) The satay was really impressive. :D
