Driving to LAX on Christmas Eve was a breeze. I arrived at a pretty empty Terminal 4. A minor issue at check-in: agent said the computer could only print out a baggage tag for four flight segments, but my itinerary had five. That means I had to pick up my bag and recheck-in at HKG.
On the tarmac, about to take the shuttle bus from Terminal 4 to the remote terminal.
I was the only guest at the Admirals Club. It was nice to have the lounge all to myself. It's a small but decent lounge, in US standard.
A shot of the new E-175 from the jet bridge
Pleasantly surprised by the new cabin and new leather seats
Plenty of legroom to stretch my legs
In-flight snack and beverage
American Admirals Club T4 - Regional
Los Angeles - LAX
San Francisco - SFO
This is only the start of my five-segment journey from Los Angeles to Taipei. I created the itinerary this way because I wanted to try the Japan Airlines business class (next report) and have a long stopover in Tokyo; and of course, also because I like to fly, especially on premium cabin. I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy lounge at the AA remote terminal, and the new cabin and seats on the E-175. It was a comfortable hour long ride to SFO.
