For holiday breaks, I decided to head down from São Paulo to Porto Alegre to visit my friend who I haven't seen for about three years. He lives in Sapucaia do Sul, about 30 minute drive north of Porto Alegre. I had previously booked a very cheap airfare for about 90 USD roundtrip through cheapflights.com (which took me to travelgenio). The outbound journey would be with Avianca and the inbound journey would be with GOL. This trip to Porto Alegre would mark my first ever trip to the city and my first ever flights with both Avianca and GOL. Overall, it was a nice 3nights/4days trip down to a nice, relatively peaceful city in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
We made our way toward Guarulhos Airport around 11:00 via SP-060.
On BR-610, route to GRU Terminals.
Looked like a monorail was under construction on the side of the highway.
Terminal 2 was relatively busy that day. It was full with holiday travelers within Brazil.
Avianca Brasil check-in kiosks.
Toward the domestic departures.
After clearing the securities. Parts of the Terminal 2 were under construction to make new stores in the area.
The terminal looked better than how it was about 3 years ago.
Terminal 2 west (I think it was formerly Terminal 1) airside.
A coxinha to kill my hunger a bit.
My gate: 211.
The paper boarding pass for today's flight.
My plane to POA, which had the special "star alliance" livery.
The boarding commenced, starting with the passengers seated in the rear.
The seats for today's flight, which were very comfortable.
The Avianca plane next to us, which had the new sharklets.
The entertainment system onboard.
Push back was on time.
After taxiing a bit, the plane proceeded to take-off. Taag Angola B777 is visible.
The flight route map didn't update throughout the flight.
Taking-off.
We took-off with Sao Paulo to our left initially.
View of Atlantic Ocean.
Beverages and cheese sandwich were distributed one hour into the flight.
The cheese sandwich (very hot to the touch btw), and Guarana.
It tasted pretty good. I think it also had some grounded chicken meat inside it too.
Landing into POA.
Rio Grande do Sul had some flooding going on that week.
Gremio soccer stadium is visible.
Taxiing to the terminal after landing.
City of POA is visible.
Another Avianca plane was next to us as we pulled into the terminal gate.
Thanks for an uneventful flight!
The bags were directly loaded from plane to conveyor belt.
We went to Gramado that day.
Thanks for sharing :)
All IFE content is free on AV so I think your score is way too low ;)
Ahh really? If that was the case, yeah the score should be higher.
Thanks for sharing this FR!
Always a treat to get the *A special liveries. Very nice flight with IFE and a warm snack served. Much better in-flight offerings than what G3 offered.
Your boarding sequence 146, you must have been one of the last passengers!
Yes I was! One of the last people to board since my seat was in the front. Didn't get to take a lot of pictures inside the cabin as a result.
