After good 3-day/4-night trip to Porto Alegre, Sapucaia do Sul, and Gramado, it was time to head back to São Paulo. The return flight was with GOL Airlines, and would take us to Congonhas Airport, a smaller airport than Guarulhos Airport located much closer to the center of the city. My friend was gracious enough to drive us from Sapucaia do Sul to Porto Alegre that morning. We arrived at the terminal by 07:10.
Porto Alegre Terminal on the morning of 29 DEC 2015.
There were a lot of people checking into the flight. Most of the people were on the same flight to Congonhas.
The line extended beyond the check-in area.
This young man was our savior! He let us skip most people on the later flights.
Porto Alegre departures floor interior (sorry for the poor quality).
Porto Alegre terminal air side.
This plane was bound for Curitiba.
Another Congonhas-bound plane.
My plane.
Getting ready for departure.
My boarding pass for this morning's flight.
Boarding.
Interior of the GOL's B738W.
Not my seat, but somebody was seating on our aisle, so here's a shot of GOL's seats.
We were seated at the very back of the plane.
On-board purchase menu.
Push back was about 10 min behind schedule. What concerned me was that the plane started pushing back even though 4-5 passengers were standing around. Never seen that before.
Goodbye Porto Alegre!
Gaining altitude.
Some snack and water were distributed.
Approaching into cloudy São Paulo.
Santos.
It was indeed cloudy that day.
It seemed as if the plane was going to skirt right above some of the buildings. At the last minute the runway appeared.
It was raining when the plane landed in Congonhas. We arrived on time despite departing a bit behind schedule from POA.
Thanks for reading my trip report!
Thank you for sharing this FR!
I'm surprised at the service on-board, I was expecting something more given what other carriers in Brazil offer on domestic flights. Since G3 is the mileage partner in Brazil with some of the bigger carriers, I thought it would be full-service. EY's website claimed they offer an Comfort Economy product, do you know what this is? Is it just a Y+ section at the front of the plane?
Anyways, nice to get a plane with BSI and new looking seats.
It seemed like most of the Brazilians expect to need to pay for food when traveling on GOL flights. Yes, there was an Y+ section in front of the plane, but I'm not so sure if they get more than snack and water. Also, I'm not sure if GOL provides more for food for seasonal flights to USA. Overall, it seems to me that GOL became like Spirit of Brazil.
Thanks for sharing. Domestic Brazil reports are always interesting.

- I have, several times in Asia. Granted the pax were probably sitting when the plane started pushing back, but got up to get something. Flight attendants screaming at pax to sit down over the PA. On more than one occasion I've seen pax struggle to walk up the aisle shortly after takeoff. Some people just don't like to follow the rules I guess, haha.
The blah seats don't seem to fit with the fancy Boeing Sky Interior and mood lighting.
