A little winter trip to Scotland, attractive fare on BA and an opportunity to upgrade my EC level to Bronze Tier Northbound flight used an A319, return reported here is on A320; same catering both ways.
Grey sky on arrival day
But then fair weather; leaving under the blue scottish sky!
Frequent local bus to airport for just £2.90
No doubt we are at Aberdeen airport.
Indeed we are.
This airline got some inspiration from Aeroflot, or so it seems
The long line of check in desks, and a few machines, for Eastern, Flybe, BMI, Easyjet, AF, KLM, SK and a few charter flights
Those airlines are in the main building, whereas flights to some oil places and helicopters to North Sea oil rigs leave from smaller terminals.
British Airways has a corner of its own in the main building.
I won't use these services, as I travel with cabin luggage only and already have my BP
The way to airside, along a café, access with BP reading
Checking my gate; oh sorry, it's too early yet
Security control, not crowdy.
Through Treasure Island
And then in the departure lounge with large windows and gates.

Anyone remembers I mentioned helicopters flights?
Boarding on time; priority process. From café straight to gate!
Today aricraft
Today seat
Comfy seats but black leather seat and dark grey floor carpet make the all thing a bit dreary to me.
Pitch is fine for such a short flight
And plenty of space …
Boarding as been completed, and nothing happens; trying to kill time…
A320 no doubt.
Looking up.
Late pushback, H + 20mn
Screens open for security video but are closed afterwards, whereas on the outbound flight we had flight info all the way through.
Hot and cold drinks as well as chips, sweet things and a third unidentified edible food is kindly offered by a young FA (picture taken while moving in cabin)
My selection
I never imagined that a biscuit could be "ridiculously" rich !!
A wee bit of Bonnie Scotland

Getting to London, from the east, flying over Southwark, the Shard, City.
Landing 10 minutes over schedule, and taxiing to T5
Seems to be T3, but why are there BA aircrafts at T3?
Zoom on QF A380
No doubt we are at LHR
As long as they fly…
Easy way out as the aircraft was under 50% full.
This gangway impressed me, so long, only half visible here.
To the way out.
No luggage to claim.
Piccadilly Line back to Central London…
Where the greyish style at landing time turned into a blue sky with freezing wind.

Conclusion
Service and comfort fair enough for a short domestic flight. Early boarding and long waiting time before late pushback. 10 minutes delay on arrival; not a problem to me. Easy flight and good value for money. My EC account was upgraded within 24 hours.

Nice domestic BA Review. BA planes at T3 is because some of the BA routes go from there following the inheritance of BMI slots & routes, though some long-haul routes have moved, as well as ex-T1 routes. T5 can't take all the BA/IB/IBX flights at LHR...
Exactly and funny how some of those routes now housed at T3 used to be T5 ones such as YVR and MIA. Plus, by the way, those 2 are both getting A380 upgrades this year. So expect T3 to now house one or two BA superjumbos soon ;)
