This is the second FR of this series. That morning http://flight-report.com/en/report-13486.htmlI flew from LIM to MIA on American Airlines where I had more than four hours of transit time before taking my next flight to LHR. It took me more than an hour to get a US stamp in my passport and re clear security, so I was airside with three hours in my hands.
I tried to buy a day pass into the Admirals club, but there seemed to be a problem with my card. Perhaps it was a sign that I should not pay 50 bucks to get into a crappy lounge.
My next task was to find my father. The airport wifi was not working, We managed to meet just as he went airside. His flight was delayed more than half an hour due to a long queue for takeoff in LIM.
We went to have a walk around the terminal to stretch a bit and then to have something to eat. We settled in one of the multiple restaurants in the terminal and ordered some burgers which tasted kind of disgusting. The vegetables weren't fresh at all and the cheese looked dried and dirty. Not good at all!
When we finished with that it was already close to boarding time. When we arrived at the gate boarding had already started and I soon stepped foot on my first 777 flight (yes, really).
I had pre selected a window and an aisle in the "preferred seats" section that we had for free thanks to our infrequent flyer status. When I checked in online there were only a couple of middle seats free in MCE, so I figured out it would be better just to seat together in main cabin.
The flight was pretty full and fortunately the middle seat remained free.
We had a very nice takeoff and we soon started heading up north before crossing the Atlantic. The captain introduced himself announcing our flight path and the weather in London. He was pretty chatty and seemed to enjoy doing his job. He even cracked a few jokes while delivering his speech. Great!
Then our lovely senior flight attendant started doing a pre-dinner drinks run along with some pretzels.

Then she started delivering dinner. Choices were chicken or Pasta. My father chose the former and I chose the latter. It was decent and fillfing. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture.
After the inflight service was completed we were already two hours into the flight. My IFE stopped working and the FA serving my aisle reseted it as soon as she noticed it. That is good service!

I started to watch our brand is crisis and then the lovely FA came asking to close the window blinds. Rather than saying it robotically she said something as "When you go to sleep, please close your window blind so that you are not woken up by the sunshine". I just loved how she did her job!
I managed to snoze for about three hours with some help and was woken as the crew turned on the cabin lights.
Breakfast consisted on a muffin with some yogurt. To drink I had some tea.
I then went to the gallery to stretch up a bit and use the toilet to freshen up.
I almost finished watching the movie I had started yesterday, but stopped as we started landing since I wanted to take a look outside.
We landed slightly before schedule despite having a small hold before landing.
There was a large queue for immigration, but it moved quickly. The official that stamped our passport was the complete opposite to the one I had in Miami, She was very sweet and polite.
Bags did not took long to arrive and we were soon making our way to our hotel in the city,
Thanks for this next report in the series! So it seems that the transit experience wasn't too terrible.

- That's pretty fast for the U.S. and luckily you had 4 hours to connect.
Perhaps it was a sign that I should not pay 50 bucks to get into a crappy lounge.
- Haha yeah, 50 bucks is kind of a rip off. It is often to pay $100 for a monthly pass if you have several AA flights coming up and especially if you travel with someone else, because you get a guest for free. Just a tip for the future :-)
that we had for free thanks to our infrequent flyer status.
- LOL! I assume you mean Frequent Flyer? DO you have oneworld sapphire status with LAN?
However the seats in main cabin are too narrow and a bit tight
- Yes, they are. I absolutely hate 3-4-3 configuration on 777s, but sadly it is becoming the norm.
Thanks for sharing!
Hi KevinDC,
Fortunately immigration was a breeze, but the whole process for the connection still takes quite a long time.
Thanks for letting me know about the monthly admirals club pass, it would have been very handy for me at this time of the year.
That was a pun hahaha, no I just have ruby with LA for now but it is pretty useless.
The 3-4-3 layout is terrible! I think it may be worth to spend a few buck more for premium economy where available.
