This was one of the flights I had for my trip to Japan in Christmas 2015.
I have chosen MU as it was price competitive and offered each passenger 2 pieces of free luggage.
There were four sectors:
1. 24/12/2015 MU722 HKG-SHA
2. 25/12/2015 MU275 PVG-MYJ (http://flight-report.com/en/report-13863.html)
3. 03/01/2016 MU528 OKJ-PVG (http://flight-report.com/en/report-13864.html)
4. 03/01/2016 MU711 PVG-HKG (http://flight-report.com/en/share-13866.html)
MU722 Hong Kong (HKG) -> Shanghai Hongqiao (SHA)

Airbus A321 B-6755

Seat length

Cabin view

Heading to the runway and ready to take off

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge

Strange clouds

Lunch, loaded in HKG

Mid-way to Shanghai

Ice-cream is served

Landing in SHA, heavy smog there!

What is the custom officer doing?

Arrived in SHA

Baggage claim in SHA

The meal is very similar to those served on Chinese domestic flights of that duration, but there would not be ice cream.
(For readers unfamiliar with this area, in local politically correct air travel parlance, a HKG flight is not domestic, but regional )
The Chinese coastline is too complex to identify the location photographed en route, but I find it interesting that the plane flew over the ocean, which is a slightly longer route than overland.
Thanks for sharing !
The route is a story here. It is very near to the border line between China and Taiwan in the Taiwan Strait. China is being criticized of applying this route by the Taiwan local community. Since the inland air space is increasingly congested, almost all Hong Kong-Shanghai flights are flying above the water nowadays, except those to Shanghai Hongqiao.
