A new airline for Flight Report, Garuda Indonesia !
We stayed at the Ibis Hotel Jakarta for the night and it was more than enough !

I took a picture of this cloud as it made me think of an extra-terrestrial invasion !!!

After spending the night in Jakarta and having an amazing rijstaffel dinner at the best indonesian restaurant in town and a good night sleep at the Ibis Hotel it was time to fly to DPS on GA.
After a quick breakfast at the hotel's restaurant we took a Blue Bird taxi (the only ones you should take in Indonesia really) to the airport. We got dropped off in front of the domestic terminal and made our way inside. After going thru the x-ray machine for the hold luggage we started to look for the GA check-in counter to DPS, we looked at the screens : nothing, we walked past every counter : nothing… I was starting to get worried so I asked one of the girls tending to the Executive Class counter and she told us it was going to be counter 14 I think, I don't remember… anyway it was going to be on the other side of the terminal… so off we went looking for that counter, I was starting to feel suspicious about that piece of information when we walked past the Saudia check in counter, then the MH and then SQ… we were now in the international side of the terminal so we walked back and found a new counter that had opened on the other side of the domestic terminal… pheeww.. I was getting worried we would miss the check-in and not be able to catch our flight.
After a rapid check in and airport tax payment made to the check in clerk, we made our way to the security check point and went to wait at our boarding lounge.
The airside of the terminal looks very indonesian with each boarding lounge being a bale and gardens in between.

As we are walking towards our boarding gate we met with this huge grasshopper !

We got to our gate and waited a little while before boarding, the only thing that is a shame is that you can't really see the planes from the boarding lounges… oh well…
PK-GWM is the Boeing 737-400 that will take us to Denpasar Bali.
We were greeted by a nice crew on board our 737-400, PK-GWM, which would take us to DPS today. We settled in our seats 5E and 5F, the first row of economy class. The flight seemed quite full today and our row was full as a lady sat next to us.

Right hand side engine.

On our right a Garuda Indonesia Boeing 747-400.

We depart from our parking spot on time and we start to move towards the runway.

Excuse me Captain Speaking which airport is this again ?

We take off and do a turn to fly towards Denpasar which allows us to fly over Jakarta Airport.

Our CFM engin number 2 is roaring and flying us towards Bali.

After a few minutes in the air, the crew came around with the trolleys to serve us a very nice lunch with some sort of peanuty chicken curry served with rice and bok choy cabbage. Dessert was some sort of peach flan. I chose to drink a sprite with my meal !

As my partner didn't want to eat his chicken I also ate his entrée, I love anything with peanuts !
After the crew served the meal they came back to serve hot drinks and clear the trays.
We had a nice view during the flight
Stunning views as we fly over the indonesian islands and a superb view of one of the numerous volcanoes of the archipelago. Was this the one that played some bad tricks on a British Airways Boeing 747-200 flying from Kuala Lumpur to Perth.

Under us, the islands…

On the screen was played some program and adds about GA, don't ask me what it was I wasn't interested and read some magazines and looked at GA's inflight magazine and the duty free boutique.
Approaching Bali

Our 737 lands on the mythical island of Bali, Welcome to Ngurah Rai International Airport. The purser thanks us for choosing Garuda Indonesia for this flight and bids us farewell !
We deplane and now the vacations can start !

J'adore!
L'Indonésie me fait vraiment envie !
@Concordia : non c'est pas un 737-500, c'est bien un 737-400 puisqu'il y a 2 sorties de secours sur les ailes !!!
A+
