On my way working from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 of MUC, I found a very appropriately-themed cafe:

I arrived about an hour before the scheduled departure time, and the BA desk was quite empty by then. The immigration was quite filled with people, however.

I was quickly checked through to Hong Kong, my final destination. The check in agent and I exchanged no words. She just quietly did her job, and got my boarding passes ready. I did not have any bags to check in here at Munich, so I was immigration-bound soon enough.
BA runs a lounge in Terminal 1 Concourse B, which is also used by other OneWorld airlines serving Munich, including Qatar.

The BA lounge is very, very basic. Do not think that you can fill your tummy here. Even sparkling wines are served out of a beer bottle….

Boarding was delayed due to the late arrival of the inbound aircraft. Chaos ensued as priority boarding was not strictly enforced and a very small gate area. Partly it was the delay that frustrated most passengers who decided to queue up despite calls for them to return to their seats. I was unable to priority board despite flying Business Class…

Typical for an intra-European flight is a 30" legroom

Boarding was slow, typical again for a single-aisle aircraft as passengers tried their very best to fit all their personal belongings into the overhead lockers.

We departed about half an hour later…

Service began in earnest. The Purser came around with a tray of English afternoon tea and champagne (they apparently went out of still water, but sparkling works out just fine)

My first, definitely not last, scones on a BA flight… I really enjoy the scones - and seconds from the Purser. Although service was slightly slow for me (the Purser was chatting with the passengers one by one addressing them by name throughout the service), I enjoyed the personal touches by the Purser (sit towards the front in Club Europe)

The English Channel was soon in sight

Always time for more champagne

I believe that this is Windsor Castle
