Hello everyone again :)
After spending a weekend in London for the Farnborough International Airshow has come for my father and I the time to come back to Italy.
The return flight would have been operated by Norwegian.com
This is the itinerary:
Friday 15th July Rome FCO - London Gatwick LGW with Vueling (here)
Sunday 17th July London Gatwick LGW - Rome FCO with Norwegian.com (YOU ARE HERE)
Having the Hotel inside Gatwick Airport gave us the possibility to spend a lot of time at the Airshow and then take the train to LGW.
The evening before we checked-in through Norwegian.com which is very easy to use
In the afternoon we took the train to the airport and, after collecting our baggages at the hotel, we headed to South Terminal
At LGW North and South Terminal are connected by a very useful automated people mover that takes about 3 minutes to complete the journey and gives a good sight of airport's apron
North Terminal bridge and many birds…easyJet, Thomson Airways, British Airways, Norwegian.com, WestJet…

Virgin Atlantic A330 and Monarch Airlines A320 from the APM

South Terminal entrance from the APM

Quite anonimous check-in hall

Norwegian.com desks

Having checked-in online and carrying only hand luggages we proceeded directly to the security checkpoint located at the mezzanine

The checkpoint was quite crowded and the control was very meticolous. We were airside in about 20 minutes

As I've seen before in LHR and STN after the security the passage through the duty-free is obliged

Our flight was reported to be on time but the gate was still not visible. We had to wait all together in the central departure loung and then rush to the gate a few minutes before boarding. It had happened to me many other times in London airports and actually I find it quite boring and messy. Who knows…
The departure lounge was bright and spacious and it seems recently renovated

We went upstairs and found a bar with an amazing view of the apron
Good point to take some pics
Reign of Norwegian and easyJet

Monarch Airlines and Turkish Airlines A321

Norwegian DreamLiner heading to the RWY for takeoff

Aurigny ATR pulling at the gate
I've read an article about this airline connecting UK to Channel Islands but it was the first time I saw it

Very nice livery

Our B737 finally arrived at Gate 11…time to go

A long walk…

It's not an hub without Victoria's Secrets

Still far

Our gate

And our bird

After waiting about 10 minutes in a cramped waiting lounge boarding started through jetway for half of the plane and by stairs for the rest
Being in row 10 we had to use jetway…no pic of the plane from the outside at this time

Finally on board

Norwegian really deserves these awards!!!

After the 787 in Summer '15 this was for me the 2nd time flying in a plane with Boeing SkyInterior
Really amazing

The view from my seat

And from the window

Different mood-lighting for the safety video

Pushback started on time
Next to us had just arrived a BH Air A321 (never heard of this airline before)

Blue mood-lighting for T/O

easyJet line up

Long queue for T/O

ThomasCook.com 757

And finally our turn arrived

Finally in the air…goodbye London! See you in one week

At cruise height On Board Wi-Fi was switched-on. It is free to use and quite fast. There is a premium faster version to be bought
Meanwhile we left England

Thanks to the Wi-Fi and FlightRadar I was able to check minute-by-minute our position and realize in advance that we would have passed over Paris
Arc-du-Triomphe and Le-Champs Elysee

Seine and Eiffle Tower

Mainland France with a bit of clouds

Alps…unfortunately I wasn't able to spot Mount Blanc

We started to fly over Italy

Elba Island and Corsica on the background with sunset

Unluckily my phone battery died and I wasn't able to take other photos
The rest of the flight was smooth and we landed on time in Rome
We found passport control and arrivals area of Fiumicino Airport completely renovated and improved
Thank you for the attention!
See you next time
