Trip Report 17

A long layover of 4 hours began, upon landing from Jeddah (JED).
The terminal was modern and spacious with a few Fast Food outlets,Coffee Shops and Cafes including Subway and an Indian Restaurant making up the departure area of Muscat Airport.
Overall a great place to spend a little time, with the availability of Free Wifi courtesy Omantel was welcomed with open arms.Charging points were also available freely

Our departure gate was located on the ground floor, quite obviously since MCT does not have Air bridges,so all passengers had to be bussed.
The Gate opened after a short while and we took our seats in a very comfortable departure area awaiting the call for boarding.

Aircraft
The Aircraft assigned for this afternoon flight back to home was yet another Boeing 737-800,just as predicted (really need to fly on a wide-bodied aircraft next time)

Push back taxi and Takeoff

Departure was on time and we were en-route to CMB after a smooth takeoff from MCT!

Seat
Unfortunately A40-BP was yet another old 737-800 in WY's fleet, and not accompanied with IFE to much of my disappointment.
The seat however had lots more leg room than its newer 737-800's which was great!

Spent most of my time watching a movie the old fashioned way, shown on the overhead screens and that too finished in 2 hours or os
Since I was left with absolutely nothing to do….sleeping was my only option.

The crew
A mixed crew as always, which was a nice touch by WY and noticed a few familiar faces of the crew who were on the flight from CMB to MCT just over a week ago.

Meal comprised of a selection between Fish,Beef or Veg. Tried out the beef option accompanied with Juice,Salad and a bun and a strawberry based dessert which tasted pretty good.

Landed in Colombo Bandaranaike-International Airport on-time after an Uneventful flight

Emigration at CMB was unorganized with only 8 Counters opened to serve hundreds of Passengers, My flight from Muscat, Etihad Airways from AUH Air Arabia from SHJ and a few more.
Absolutely horrible
