Pictures from the Hotel, Manama and F1 @ Bahrain International Circuit

It was my first time to Bahrain.
And to be honest - I loved it.
The people were very friendly. The city was clean and looked great - well of course, you have to love the very hot weather (we had up to 50°C on Saturday in the sun) and the desert landscape.
The F1 race was organized very good.
There were lots of attractions - especially for families. So therefore a lot of families were at the race.
But take a look at a few pictures!

Interesting architecture :)

The hotel was quite good. It was in walking distance from the airport and had a great pool with a huge garden to relax.

Pre-Flight Information

Our return flight was scheduled for Easter Monday.
Departing Bahrain at about 10 am local time and arriving back in Munich at about 9pm local time.
The layover in DXB was about 4h - but that was the only connection which fit into our plan.
Seats for that flight were right in the middle for me and my friend.
34E and 34F …. which was not very nice - because you feel very cramped in the middle of the row.
But for those 1.5 hours it was okay - but to be honest, I never want to do a long haul flight right in the middle!!! It must be horrible!!!

And there arrived our B777-300ER as EK837 from DXB

During the boarding process I was able to meet Martin Brundle, former F1 driver from the UK and now TV expert for SKY UK.
It was nice to meet him and talk to him a little bit about the great race from the day before, which Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel won :D

Food on EK838
As on the DXB => BAH flight, there were no menu cards issued to the passengers and the crew started with the service as soon as possible after we were up in the air.
This time I took a photo of the offered tray.
As you see, it was almost the same sandwich and some nuts.
Bottled water and coffee or tea was offered, too.

Conclusion

Another great flight with EK.

The load for that flight was at 100% - it's hard to believe - but the B777-300ER was completely full.

I am pretty sure it had something to do with the F1 race in Sakhir.
It would be interesting to know, how the load is during the year.
I mean, EK offers 3 or 4 connections between DXB and BAH per day with a B777-300ER ....
