Review of Austrian Airlines flight from Vienna to Milan in Economy

My stopover in Vienna was very short, only 1:15 reduced to approximately 0:50 regarding the time needed for the stairs deboarding and a long bus ride from a remote stand. I knew I wouldn't have enough time to see the airport but my plan for this short stay was to have a piece of my favorite Sachertorte I couldn't have missed while even a couple of minutes in Vienna. There were long queues in most of the cafes but finally I found one near my gate where there was no crowd. To be honest it wasn't the best Sachertorte I've had so far but it was ok and it made my Austrian experience even more pleasant.

I've managed to spot some Austrian planes while walking to my gate.

A320 with another A320 in the background. First I thought it was my A320 to Milan but I discovered my boarding will be a bus one, no jetbridge.

While on the bus it started to rain which made the final stairs boarding very quick and chaotic, so I couldn't even take a picture of my A320.

By the way Austrian seems to have 3 different liveries currently, the old one with red and light blue, the "my Austrian" one and finally the red and white one with no "my" on the fuselage. Anyone knows which one of the last two is the final one? Personally I find the "my Austrian" option very low cost style and I don't like it.

Suddenly the rain becomes so intense it is no longer possible to take any sharp pictures as my window becomes totally wet. Push-back and taxi begin in the meantime. During boarding and taxi some classical Mozart music is played. Even with your eyes shut you know which airlines you are flying!

Judging by our take off direction it seems we are going to overfly Vienna city center. Get ready for the views!

This A320 looks very decent inside, the legroom is generous, the interior is clean and well maintained.

I must say this cabin crew is one of the nicest I have ever flown with. Mostly ladies in their 50s, smiling all the time, very polite and helpful. By now Austrian CC makes great impression.
Not long after take off the service starts. It is the same as in the firts flight: sweet or salty snack with choice of beverages. After my piece of Sachertorte I don't need more sugar today, so once more I choose the salty option and good Ottakringer beer.

Soon we are flying over the Alps. This time to my big surprise it is very calm, no turbulence at all.

The views become breathtaking as we start our descend. I can't help being overwhelmed by the beauty of these mountains no matter how often I fly above them.

It takes ages to get to the baggage claim area but finally we make it. Malpensa is not the nicest airport on earth and I have this feeling I would like to be somewhere else despite being happy to be in Italy. It's very strange but my colleague's bag (I travel with handluggage only) arrives very quickly. It takes almost an hour to get to Milan by car from this airport situated in the middle of nowhere, but it's good to have a nice hotel room view!
