In August 2016 (last year), I took a three week holiday and went home to The Philippines. I had a couple of options here - SQ or CX. I took the latter as I wanted to pass by Hong Kong (as has been passing through Singapore numerous times in the past).
When I bought the ticket, it was only about US$600 return (MLE - CEB - MLE) so I took the opportunity and booked it.
First, and normally, it is my tradition to relax prior to flying so I took a few hour off from work and went to the beach.
The following day (the day I flew), I had a quick breakfast before flying on a seaplane. I wish I can review seaplane flights soon?.. :)
My last view of the island paradise (for that time being)…
The Maldives operates the biggest fleet of twin otters in the world and here are the photos I took during that seaplane flight. It took about 15 minutes from the resort where I work to Male International Airport.
After getting my luggage, I proceeded to Male city where I booked a day use room at Jen Hotel for about US$50. I arrived in Male International Airport at around 7AM and my international flight is not until 11PM that night. Here are the views from my room at Jen Hotel Male.
Maldives' only bank. :)
Dinner with friends before flying…
At around 430PM, I took a ferry back to Male International Airport (about 5 minute travel) and proceeded to check - in.
Had gotten my BP after a painless and fast check - in. My seat was 46A, that time. CX had 2-4-2 configuration on this Airbus 330-300 which was fine for me.
IFE, decent size and had plenty of movies.
My drinks… OJ and Red Wine. Quite a good combo right there.
Dinner was served. Very good, the meat was so tender and tasted really good. Bread was warm and the salad was just ok. Cutleries were just fine for me.
Sunrise over HK just before landing….
Views of the famous HK buildings before touching down…
And my connecting flight, CX921 to Cebu which I will not report as I do not have much photos of it…
Thank you again guys…
I saw a photo of Kai Tak International Airport (KTIA). I have never seen from above. Well done and thanks for sharing the flight report.
Thanks bro. :)
