Due to the new 3rd flight from Jakarta to Tokyo (2nd service to HND) started on 02 Aug 2017, ANA had a promotional fare from Jakarta as low as USD295 for round trip ticket was quite a steal and there was an additional USD36 off if you use one of the credit card promo. So I decided to bought the ticket 3 months before my departure to have a short holiday in Japan.
I reached Soekarno-Hatta terminal 2 at 5.15am and luckily no traffic jam at that time. Soekarno-Hatta Airport now introduce a "Airport Helper" who will all passengers bring their luggage even until check-in desk. I was approached by a airport helper when unloading my luggage from the car. He helped me with my luggage until my bag was checked in at the counter.
Check In ANA has automatically checked me in the day before as I have provided all the necessary informations provided for online check in, so that I went straight to "baggage drop" line which has no line at all, while in economy section there were a line formed quite long as there were 2 ANA flights departed within 1 hour (1 for HND and 1 for NRT). But then I was directed to business class check in counter to drop my luggage. Boarding pass was received in no time.
Boarding ANA used D7 gate, which Gate D was used by most of star alliance. Boarding time stated was 06.35am, but on 06.25am there was an announcement that the boarding will be delayed and the revised boarding time would be 06.40am. I was quite impressed on how punctual Japan's culture that even for 5 minutes boarding delayed, they apologised and announced it as it was a big deal, which I believe another airline do not bother to do such thing as we as passenger also will not mind. ANA does not used row number boarding sequence, the first boarding is for passenger with assistance, followed by Diamond/Platinum/Star Alliance Gold, business class and all economy passenger.
A cabin crew stood in front of the airplane door for "morning greeting" and I realised there was no newspaper or anything either outside the door or on the galley's table, I was wondering whether ANA had this service.
"Another Sky" - ANA theme song was played during boarding. The flight was 85% full in economy, maybe due to the promotional fare introduced.
Touch screen was responsive enough which remote was rarely used.

When I was browsing through "Wingspan" inflight magazine, I chuckled when reading the Fleet Information. Nice touch from ANA to indiscreetly exposing their "fastest in the galaxy" fleet - Millennium Falcon. I really cannot wait to fly with ANA again once the fleet available. LoL
Airborne after 15mins taxing. The weather not that good with a bumpy take off.
I used the middle lavatory which designed for diffable. Lavatory has its own window with no dimming feature. Toilet was Japan style toilet with all button on the sides.
30 minutes after airborne, cabin crew distributing mineral water and wet tissue for each passengers and followed by breakfast service.
I chose the Japanese type breakfast which was tasty. ANA used 2 different colour in the meal tray so that cabin crew easier to take (yellow tray for Japanese selection and blue tray for the other selection). Not sure about the white tray at the photo though.
Cabin light was dimmed after the breakfast service ended.
2 hours before arrival, cabin light was on again and cabin crew started the snack service (it was bread with tuna).
During the decent, cabin crew once again did another service. Offering a "trick or treat" candy to all passengers.
my ride of the day.
Jakarta - CGK
Tokyo - HND
The crew was attentive, cheerful and smile all the time and the food was great. From check in until disembark, we are really being pampered by all the staff the Japanese way. ANA is really an "Inspiration of Japan".
