Greetings!
Normally, I will always avoid early morning flight but too bad I need to fly to KUL for a morning meeting at 9am, therefore I decided to take the earliest flight to KL from CGK and it was on MH, with attractive price.
Check In
I reached Soekarno-Hatta Airport 2 hours before departure and there were 4 pax in front of me for check in. Too bad, MH didn't have "online check in" line so that I need to queue patiently. Check is was fast and the agent was smiling and nice, I was checked in within minutes and she gave a baggage tag as well for my carry-on baggage.
Boarding
When I was waiting in the boarding room, I was suddenly remembered that the airport won Aga Khan Award for Architecture in the 90s, a traditional feel yet modernised building with Javanese Architecture in mind (Joglo House) surrounded by natural tropical landscape around the boarding room which integrated beautifully as one. The airport shows how Indonesian's culture and traditions in some of the aspect of the airport, such as paintings, carvings, the architecture shape, etc. Too bad nowadays the airport was too worn out.
A not so packed boarding room, which surprisingly the load factor was 80%.
The so-called "transit pass" use for boarding as the boarding was commenced based on colours.
No newspapers cart seen outside the aircraft door.
In Flight
Was welcomed by the AVOD which can be used on the ground. There was nothing on the seat, but pillow and blanket are available upon request. I did request to have a blanket and I was quite surprised that the blanket was not in sealed condition which (on my mind) means that the blanket was used before. I was politely declined the given blanket and give to the pax next to me instead. The seat was just a standard seat with an adequate legroom. The seat reminds me of Lion Air seat with more cushion and the headrest are not movable.
Cabin crew was explaining the perks of sitting next to emergency exit seat.
The condition when all pax were onboard.
Seat pocket. Headphone was available inside the seat pocket.
We were airborne ontime and banking towards KUL.
Once the fasten seat belt sign was off, I went to the lavatory. There was nothing at all at lavatory except 1 hand soap next to the faucet.
Crew was preparing for meal service.
Cabin during the flight.
Food selection were rice with chicken or omelet. I chose the former, turned out that the rice was "nasi lemak" and tasted just ok. Cutlery were made of plastic and complete with toothpick and tissue paper. The drink service comes later together with desert, sort-of chocolate brownies.
The flight was touched down promptly at KLIA.
The service isn't that bad compared into European or American Airlines :) Maybe the fact of being a red-eye is quite important with the service...
Nice FR!
Hi Guillbcn, thank you for your comment. Yes indeed the service is better than American airlines. =)
