Introduction

This 2014 trip report starts with a bus ride as the train service was not operational due to planned trackwork on the Airport Line.

Printed boarding pass

Check-in opened 48hr before flight. Checked in for the flight and had the boarding pass printed before arriving in the airport.

Had no check-in bag, walked to Terminal 3 to catch the SkyBus. Ticket was AUD$17 one way. Got a return for AUD $32

Conclusion

I chose TigerAir as it was the cheapest flight to Melbourne at convenient time for me. Cabin was clean, flight was punctual. Being a short flight, lack of entertainment wasn't an issue. Sydney Domestic airport is easy to travel from city but the station access charges are too expensive for the distance travelled on public transport. Melbourne LCC Terminal was basic which served well for customers of TigerAir. Easy to navigate being a domestic terminal.

Melbourne doesn't have much choice in terms of transport. Either its a taxi /pickup service or skybus if someone does not have personal transport. Travel on Sydney - Melbourne route and return - to city and from airport is 1/2 the cost of one way flight.
