Hello everyone, welcome to the 2nd part of the trip to Asia, this part will cover the return flight from Hong Kong to Munich with Lufthansa A380.
1. Part 1 MUC->HKG LH730: Here!
2. Part 2 HKG->MUC LH731: You are here!
On the day of flight, I arrived at the airport two hour before the boarding time. The check-in counter was quite empty and I settled everything swiftly.
My gate was assigned at 212. Boarding was schedule to start at 22:35pm, but for some reason it was not started on time. We tried to stay as close to the boarding gate as possible so that we could get onboard earlier.
My ride back to Munich. D-AIMD, an A380 delivered to Lufthansa in October 2010. It was given the name Tokyo. Eventually boarding started at 23:18pm, so we could already expect a delay for our flight.
My seat 96A, second row of the economy class. Just like the first flight, was located at the rear upper deck of the aircraft. But this time, I chose the left side. Pillow, blanket and headset were placed on the seat.
View of the business class section in the front.
The extra storage bin under the window.
Economy class of the upper deck
USB port was located underneath the armrest.
The small and outdated screen.
Menu was then distributed. I thought Lufthansa has eliminated paper menu because I did not get it for my last two long haul flights.
View out of the aircraft. According to the announcement, the cabin was warmer due to the malfunction of the APU, but would be better when we were airborne. When boarding was completed, the woman who sat next to me move to the front row, so I could enjoy an empty neighboring seat.
Pushback was commenced at 23:54pm and our plane took off after 15 minutes.
Snack and drink were served about 30 minutes after takeoff.
As the same time, I started to watch the first movie of the flight, a Chinese movie called Wu Kong.
Dinner was then served at 1:24am. I took the Chicken Zurichoise and linguini with garden vegetables option.
A cup of coffee after the meal.
After dinner, I started to watch the live Worldcup match of Russia against Kroatia. I watched the first half of the match and fell asleep during halftime, when I woke up the match was approaching at 80mins but unfortunately, the signal was somehow terminated and not able to watch the match till the end. Then I decided to continue to sleep again.
After approximately 2 hours and 15 mins sleep, I woke up at 5am. From the flight map, we had already left China and entered Kazakhstan.
Then I visited the only economy class lavatory at the back and grabbed myself some water. I continued with the Wu Kong movie after that.
After I finished the movie at 6:35am, I fell asleep again and slept for another two and half hours. As I woke up, we were flying over Belarus.
Then I watched the second movie, Gravity.
Breakfast was served at 9:36am. I chose the Scrambled egg (with spring onion enhanced by Mornay sauce, roasted potato, spinach and chicken chipolata.)
The sky began to get brighter.
Fleet introduction in Lufthansa magazine.
At 10:23am, announcement from cockpit informing that we had 40 minutes to landing.
Munich Airport was visible in the distance.
Sunrise in Munich sky.
On short final.
We touched down on RWY26R at Munich local time 5:01am
Shortly after landing.
Reached final parking position.

Thanks for reading!
I think you have got the wrong aircraft. It’s an a380 not an a350. And what a pathetic 5 star experience. Way to go skytrax
Thanks for this FR.
Great comfort with a seat on the upper deck and no neighbor.
Typical LH experience as far as food is concerned, but it seems the MUC based crew are friendlier than the one that are FRA based.
That IFE is really really outdated and should not have heen on board an A380 of Lufthansa. They somehow are not willing to change those.
