Hi,
Check In at the Lufthansa Group Business Class counter was quick and friendly. I was happy to be able to use the empty Fast track security lane as the regular lanes were very long and busy.
I spent ca. 25 minutes in the only Business Lounge of Porto Airport that all airlines use there. It is ok with comfortable seating areas and a nice view from an inside balcony over the terminal building.
The food and drink selection however is basic and limited to some mediocre tasting snacks.
Boarding to my splendid looking Swiss A220 started on time and worked perfectly smooth with a dedicated priority lane.
A very friendly Maitre de Cabine welcomed me on board and I took my window seat 2A. Business Class was only 2 rows today only separated by a small sign from Economy Class. I definitely missed a real curtain which adds much more privacy - why does Swiss not invent some curtain logic for their growing fleet of A220s?!
Apart from that the cabin was very modern and nice and the seats comfortable with enough pitch.

Once boarding was completed a small bottle and refreshing towel was offered from a basket to us 4 Business Class passengers in total. This welcome gesture is nice and makes a small but noticeable difference.
The safety video played on the very small but nice small screens on the ceiling - a really cool feature. Throughout the rest of the flight it kept showing the airshow map - always a nice thing.
Soon we took off into a rainy sky for a flight of 2 hours 10 minutes to Zurich.
Once cruising altitude was reached the very friendly flight attendant taking care of Business Class asked for aperitif drink choices ca. 20 minutes after take off.
I had some nice champagne plus water.
The flight continued very relaxed and with a nice timing of the service components. No menu was provided but instead two main dishes offered verbally: A typical Swiss meat dish (Zuercher Geschnetzeltes) or some vegetarian pasta. I decided for the meat dish. This was served soon together with a selection of nice warm bread and crackers from a basket.
The meal simply tasted great - especially the starter and the dessert were great. Also the presentation was very nice with real cloth napkin etc.
More drinks and bread refills were offered several times and I selected a nice glass of red wine from a selction of two different ones offered by the cabin crew.
Once the meal tray was removed I decided for some tea and a Baileys. This was served in a nice way together with another surprise: a great tasting huge cake in the form of a bear (it came with a card promoting the Bern region and is a speciality from this Swiss area.
The flight passed by smoothly and we touched down at Zurich soon.

Our plane parked at at a remote psoition which was no problem as there was a separate bus provided for us 4 Business Class passengers - a very nice end to a great flight.
Thanks for reading,
FlyAlex
Thanks for this FR.
Great service indeed.
I agree that C class should be more separated from Y.
However it seems there no consistency on LX Euro business class service even on flights of the same duration , sometimes a full meal, sometimes a light meal.
Thanks for this report,
I flew yesterday on an LX A220 between Lisbon and Geneva. The aircraft was one of the last delivered to SWISS and had a curtain to separate C and Y class.
The F/A told me that Bombardier had some issues with the certification of the curtains and that it could not be installed in first delivered aircraft. This will be changed however in the future.
Thanks for this Update! Great to hear that Swiss finally starts to install curtains on their A220 fleet
