As we had arrived in Sydney a little early we went to the Emirates lounge. It was not yet open as the 3 Emirates flights to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane leave around the end of the afternoon, early evening so the lounge doesn't open before 2pm. So we had a stroll around the airport, visited a few boutiques and came back at 2pm just as the lounge was opening. We were the first 2 to enter this window-less lounge. I really don't like blind lounges.
The buffet was already set up, the hot dishes only appeared much later. It was also possible to order freshly made sandwiches. I ordered a cheddar and pickle sandwich from the menu.
How about dessert ?!
I didn't take any pictures of the hot dishes as I wasn't hungry anymore. The dishes were mostly currys and rice etc…
After enjoy the lounge and stuffing myself I was getting claustrophobic in the lounge as it was really lacking windows. I left my partner and went for a walk to see if our Airbus 380-800 had landed. Gate 16 is reserved for the A380 and it is located at the far end of the terminal and you have to walk a good 7 minutes to get there. It is a little long but the walk is nice. It was a beautiful day and the walls leading to the boarding lounges had huge photos of the natural beauties that make New Zealand.
The 3 Emirates flight depart around the same time within 1à minutes. 2 A340 and 1 A380 serve the kiwi capital.
And here is the beast ! Our first flight on an A380 ! We were so excited !!!
After I saw our A380 I went back to the lounge and wait for boarding. After a few minutes we decided to walk to our boarding gate. When we reached the gate they had already started to board the flight.
Last picture of the huge plane with the Brisbane flight in the background.
Boarding on the left was for Economy Class passengers and on the right it was for First and Business Class passengers.
We were welcomed on board by 3 cabin attendants indicating our seats.
My seat, 17B.
My screen and I am seated on 17B !

I am now looking around the seat that will be my territory for the next 3 hours.

KiaOra Auckland !
We are ready to take off and shortly our Airbus 380-800 A6-EDD will start its course towards the skies to go home to Dubai via Sydney.
The IFE has started and at Emirates it is called ICE. Some exercises to avoid DVT.
The menus were handed out after take off and our cabin attendant, Lillith will take our order for the drinks and meal.
The drinks will be served from the trolley. I will order a glass of Perrier and the crew will also hand out mixed nuts.
Lillith will come back later to set up our tables with the help of the trolley once again. It will be the last sight of said trolley. The rest of the meal will be done by serving trays.
After the very a started that I didn't like at all as it had bell pepper, a vegetable that I DO NOT digest ! I find it is a shame that the menu didn't indicate there was bell pepper as there was quite a lot of it.
The main course, a fillet of fish which was excellent !
My partner's choice, the pumpkin ravioles.
Once again the english way is very much present as it will be a choice of cheese OR dessert ! J wanted dessert but there wasn't any left (why offer me then ?!) My partner, a great cheese love will be happy with his well presented and stacked cheese plate.
As I didn't have dessert I request a cup of tea served with a small box of Godiva chocolates.
After the meal we went for a walk around this superb aircraft and had a drink at the bar !
We had a seat at the bar located on either side of the cabin in the bar area.
View of the wing from both sides of the read cabin of our A380.
Toilet with a view !
Just enough time to finish our Bailey's and we were approaching the australian coast.
Descent will start soon and the weather in Sydney is not good at all.
Our arrival in Sydney.

Auckland - AKL
Sydney - SYD
What an amazing aircraft !!! The Business Class on Emirates A380 is excellent, service was perfect, we loved it ! Only minor problems were the starter I didn't like and the usual choice between cheese or dessert and of course... NO dessert available ! Yet it was a faultless flight !
