Hi guys. Welcome to my next report on Flight-Report. Today, I will fly with Vietjet Air from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang on a very special Airbus A321. Find out how special this plane is in this trip report ;)
But first, please check out my trip report about this flight on YouTube. This video is more detailed than the script version on Flight-Report and has more special things there, so I hope you guys will check out, like the video and support to my channel by subscribe Vinavia on YouTube :D
And here is the script report. Hope you guys will enjoy :D
Today's flight would start at Domestic Terminal, Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City.
Let's head to the check-in area of Vietjet Air in the separate area of the terminal.
Today, I would fly on flight VJ622 to Da Nang, and the estimated departure time would be 6.15 am.
I already did online check-in and I didn't have any checked baggage, so I headed directly to the security check.
Security check procedure was fast and I quickly got into airside.
Here was the gate for this flight: gate 17, which is a bus gate.
Boarding was called, and I got on the bus to get to the plane.
After a ride from the terminal to the apron, I finally reached the aircraft. The registration of this A321 is LY-VEG, and it was 15.9 years old.
Vietjet Air has leased this aircraft from Avion Express, which is a Lithuanian aircraft leasing operator to serve during Lunar New Year holidays. Interestingly, this aircraft was served for Thomas Cook Airlines before the liquidation, that is why it still had Thomas Cook's livery colors, but unfortunately, there was no logo of Thomas Cook on this plane anymore.
As you can see, the signature seats of Thomas Cook are still remained in this aircraft.
My seat on this flight was 15A.
Legroom was pretty cramped and I could not stretch my legs.
This tray table was pretty low, it almost touched my knees.
View from my window, and cabin view from my seat.
During the wait for departure, I had admired the sunrise view outside the window. It was truly marvelous :D
30 minutes after boarding, the aircraft started to pushback and taxi to the runway.
In the seat pocket, I had: a sickness bag, a safety card, a menu, and an inflight magazine of Vietjet Air called one2FLY.
20 minutes after take-off, buy-on-board service was started.
I decided to buy a cup of tea and a small package of cashew with the total price of just under 2 dollars.
Views from my window
I took a look at lavatory at the back after the buy-on-board service ended. This lavatory was pretty dated like the age of this aircraft and the amenities were just basic.
After about 45 minutes flying, the aircraft started to descend and prepared to land.
My journey had ended at Domestic Terminal, Da Nang International Airport, Da Nang. Thank you for reading and watching, and see you in the next report :D
Even though this was a flight on low-cost carrier, it still had plenty of highlights and some drawbacks. The preflight procedure was really fast and smooth. The flight departed on time. The Lithuanian crews on this flight were superb. They were really friendly and helpful throughout the flight. The Lithuanian crews on this flight were superb. They were really friendly and helpful throughout the flight. The only complaint of this flight is the seat. The seat was pretty hard and the legroom was too tight. But overall, I'm really satisfied with this flight and I was really lucky to be on this unique experience.
