This trip began as British Airways trip to Amsterdam and then KLM's 787-10 back to the states. Until KLM swapped aircraft sending me on a massive tinker, which will unfold over the trip reports.
This is a short report. Simply to show what United has done with their ancient fleet of 757-300s. These are the new slim line F seats.
There are 6 rows, 24 seats in first. And about as comfortable as they look.
Under the armrest is a slot to place an electronic device, except on takeoff and landing.
A power outlet under the drink tray, but no USB power port that I could find.
There is one redemming quality to two seats in first class, 1A and 1B.
Good for computer bags as well as stretching out.
It's always fun to see retro liveries.
Flooding on the Missouri river around Omaha "Eppy" Field.
An actual decent meal on United.
My one takeaway from this flight is how noisy these 757's are compared to current aircraft like the 787 and A350. Having said that the nostalgic 757 was always one of my favorite aircraft. This was an old Continental 757-300 as United flew the -200 variant only.
I like that UA put cutouts in the bulkhead row so you can stretch your legs or for storage. In comparison, that's one of the worst things about DL domestic F--the tight space in row 1. I used to fly UA domestic F a lot in the pre-merger days and these new seats looks so much better than the old cloth seats that were often musty and funky smelling. The older seats were probably more spacious and more comfortable though.
