Hi guys. Welcome to my next report on Flight-Report. Today, I will fly with Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO) from Con Dao to Can Tho on ATR 72. But first, please check out my trip report about this flight on YouTube. This video is more detailed than the script version on Flight-Report and has more special things there, so I hope you guys will check out, like the video and support to my channel by subscribe Vinavia on YouTube :D
And here is the script report. Hope you guys will enjoy :D
Today's flight would start at Con Dao Airport, Con Dao Island, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province.

Let's get inside the terminal.

Landside of the airport

Today, I would fly on flight 0V8071 to Can Tho, and the estimated departure time would be 10.20 am. Before the flight took place, I already had a bad experience with this flight. This flight was actually delayed and rescheduled 6 times. My original flight was 0V8075, which departed at 11:20, then they delayed to 11:40, then 12:00. Then 0V8075 was cancelled, so I was moved to flight 0V8071 departed at 10:20, but delayed again till 12:00. Finally, it got back to the original time, which was 10:20. I was super mad when I continuously getting messages about delays.

VASCO's ' check-in area

Check-in and security check was done, then I went upstairs to the waiting area.

Con Dao Airport is a small yet very busy airport since Con Dao Island is a popular tourist attraction, and VASCO, which is a subsidiary of Vietnam Airlines, makes monopoly of all routes to Con Dao. That's the reason ticket prices to Con Dao is very expensive.

I received the news that my flight was delayed to 10:30 due to late arrival of the plane.

Plane hadn't come yet, and my flight was again delayed to 11:15.

Still waiting for the plane, and the flight was delayed to 11:45. his flight has become the most delayed flight I've ever had.

Thank God, after a long wait, my aircraft finally arrived from Ho Chi Minh City. This ATR 72 has the registration of VN-B221, and it was 10.5 years old.

Now I went downstairs to the departure gate of this flight.

Here was the departure gate of this flight: gate 1, and all gates here are bus gates.

Boarding was called, and I got on the bus to get to the aircraft.

Boarding

Here was my seat on this flight: seat 8A.

Legroom was alright for such a short flight like this.

Tray table

View from my window, and cabin view from my seat.

Refreshing tissue was handed out before departure.

10 minutes after boarding, the aircraft started to pushback and taxi to the runway.

Take-off

The views of Con Dao from above look absolutely gorgeous XD

5 minutes after take-off, drinks were served. There were 2 choices of drinks on this flight: water and coke.

And I asked for a cup of water.

In the seat pocket, I had: a sickness bag, a safety card, and an inflight magazine of Vietnam Airlines called Heritage.

View from my window, and cabin view from my seat during the flight.

Let's have a look at the lavatory in the back of the cabin. Like many other lavatories on ATR planes, it was really small and cramped, but at least this one was quite clean.

Cabin view

The plane was in the mainland now, that means the aircraft started to descend and prepared for landing.

Landing

Disembarkation

My journey had ended at Can Tho International Airport, Can Tho. Thank you for reading and watching, and see you in the next report :D

Hello, Vinavia!
Thank you very much for this report. I always enjoy reports about lesser-known destinations, a bit off the beaten path.
I'm sorry to hear that this flight was delayed so many times. That's even more surprising considering vasco is a VietNam Airlines subsidiary. I always read positive opinions about them! But this monopoly thing... that's too bad, and detrimental to the island's inhabitants! We have a similar problem in my country. LATAM has always had the monopoly of flights to Easter Island, since it was LanChile, the national flag carrier. It's not a flag carrier anymore, but it stills holds the monopoly. I think that's unfair. These routes should be assigned to the best service providers.
Thanks for the report and the beautiful aerials!!
