Note: still no landscape pics, sorry!
So after my flight from WICK I had a few hours to kill before my Little Red flight back to Heathrow.
I popped into the Servisair Lounge using my Priority Pass, and like most Servisair lounges, kind of wish I hadn't.
The staff were friendly enough but they are soulless places with no sense or attempt to make them feel special.
Not being a diva here, but a decent lounge shouldn't be difficult. Take a look at No.1 Lounge (even they don't get it right all the time but are far superior). Rant over.
The view outside was of the multi story car park…
But first. Hooray Little Red, and thank you!
It was a dreich day in Edinburgh.
There wasn't a great deal to do except drink T&G's so I did that most of the afternoon.
Off to a very crowded Gate 6, and priority boarding in place. UC/PE/Gold Card and all connecting flight passengers could board first. Fair enough. I like the idea that if I have a connecting flight to catch I can get on board and settled in.
On all of my flights now I have noted that Little Red flights have boarded from the back rows to the front and vacated front to back. Not sure if it makes it quicker - it certainly feels quicker. And it's quite nicely balanced - if you get to board first you disembark last. Or board last and disembark first.
Super friendly crew and that Virgin purple lighting.
I've marked Entertainment as good as there was a selection of newspapers at the gate including The Scotsman, The Times and the usual Daily Mail.
Take off!
Flying over the clouds…
A G&T for the flight… with a tiny packet of Tyrell's Plane Crisps.
Later, Love Hearts!
I let everyone else disembark first as I wanted a pic of the cabin, but unfortunately could only manage a couple of rows.
London looked wet and windy.
I really like Terminal 1. It doesn't feel like you are in one of the busiest airports in the world, and I mean that in a good way.
I wish Little Red every success. They seem to be doing everything right.
The crew are brilliant, and I don't mean that they make you feel like they are your best friend or doing handstands etc. but there's just something very quietly reassuring about how they are handling these flights. They are a real credit to Virgin.
Thanks again for this FR,
Pictures are a bit small though, do you have them in higher resolution (1014pixels width is recommended)?
btw do you think we should create a new airline Virgin Atlantic/Little Red for the database?
See you.
I have replaced the pics, hope the larger resolution is better.
Also, I note that if I don't score Entertainment, say on a domestic flight where there is no entertainment, it affects the overall score of the airline, is this correct?
@Sealink : that is correct. During beta-testing of this version of FR, I suggested to have a N/A (Not applicable) grade, but that was rejected on grounds of complexity. When I am able to develop a website like this one (which is unlikely to ever happen), I'll be qualified to complain about that ;)
The pictures are definitely much better now than before I read this report, haha :) That pink lighting is, well, unexpected. I would expect Barbie and Ken to pop up anytime. Thanks for this FR !
Thanks for an excellent FR !
Thanks for this first FR with Virgin Atlantic Little Red !
Thanks for this FR.
VS definitely seems to offer a superior domestic product than BA.
I hope they're succesful in helping VS to regain profitability.
The mood lighting is really special and soothing.
Thanks for this FR !
I really like EDI airport, especially since the recent makeover, however I admit that even the lounge door feels like the inside won't be great.
The outside and inside of the plane are nice, and the boarding procedures are well thought.
However I'm a bit disappointed on the catering, it's exactly the same as BA's.
Thanks for sharing this FR
Long live little red ;)
Thanks for this FR.
The cabin seems to be very cosy with this very nice mood lightning.
Thanks for this good FR :)
Nice cabin mood lighting !
Thank you for sharing and Welcome onboard Flight Report !
