This is an old flight but I thought I would share it as it is possibly the most interesting flight I have had!
CityWing (then called Manx2) operated a flight from Angelsey Airport in North Wales, to the Isle of Man, then a connecting flight to Belfast City.
I didn't even know there was an airport in Angelsey!
I took the train from London Euston to Holyhead. The connection times were great.
Here's a view over the station. Most people will take the ferry to Dublin, which I have done before. (different trip report, different website!)
I took a local bus to the airport.
There is an RAF base here which is adjacent to the civil airport.
The waiting area. I checked in (photo ID essential!) and waited.
Before long our 'plane landed. This little craft operates from Cardiff to Angelsey to Isle of Man and back, as far as I know.
I think it's a Dornier?
First Class. (Well, that's what I call a 1-1 configuration!)
The pilots handled the safety demonstration and then turned around to take their seats.
They managed to fill the little plane!
As it's a small craft and didn't fly high, the views were lovely.
Before long, we landed at Ballasalla (Isle of Man)where FlyBE was waiting.
Thanks for sharing this FR
Very special flight with an uncommon airline
1-1 configuration !
Nice aerial views
The first plane is indeed a Dornier 228 - I recently re-posted in English my FRs on flights flown on Taiwanese Do-228s.
I would suggest that you rework this FR into two separate FRs (removing the first or second half to create the new FR), because there are two different planes. It would require minimal adaptations to the narrative. But as it is, it is already a great FR - I love small planes. Thanks !
Thanks for sharing, it looks like a scenery flight !
Hello,
Nice FR on this former company that's been bought by Citywing (although at first glance, it seems Citywing was created for the sole purpose of buying Manx2 for whatever reason).
PS : please add the relevant IATA (or OACI) code in front of the flight number
Thank you for this report, on an exotic line as now usual ;)
You should blur your name on your boarding pass to avoid that it becomes too public ;)
Hello there!
Thank you very much for this unsual trip report! I really loved it! It isn't that often that we F.Rers get to see a Let410 FR! The photos are great. well done!
The 1-1 config provides the assurance to get a window which is always good if the weather follows!
There are a few interesting options within UK for exoctic combos of carrier/aircraft.
Thanks for sharing two of them!
