Conclusion

Singapore Airlines was airlines of choice for the convenience of timing and service. Even though ticket was slight more expensive than other carriers, chose them due to level of customer service. The flight was comfortable, food was adequate, Entertainment was best of the time.

Onboard crew and service was as expected. Overall a satisfactory flight

  • Wow, look at all those beautiful 747s! And UA in battleship grey ?

Thanks so much for the trip down memory lane !

  • Thank you for sharing this flight from another timeline. With a rather good catering (especially breakfast) despite an "old-school" cabin. Especially the Business class one compared to what SQ offers now...

Impressive all the 747's especially UA's one. Just a few years before the superjumbo's first civilian flight. Which was SYD if I'm correct.

Have safe trips, if it's still possible... ;)

  • Very generous catering... Things have changed a lot since then. Thanks for this journey in the past.

  • Great nostalgic report, thanks for sharing! I was an excitable kid with an annual Euro beach holiday during this period so it's great to see what the wider aviation world looked like back then. A world where A340s, 767s and 747s ruled the long-haul skies sounds like ancient history at this point. Crazy to think that this trip is closer to 1995 than 2021! A wonderful snapshot in time.
