Hi everyone and welcome in this new flight-report !
Today, we are in Zurich, Switzerland for an avgeek trip. In June, a friend tells me about a flight he will take in July between Zurich and Madrid on the Iberia Airbus A330-200. The ticket costs only 37 € for 2 hours of flight so… Let's gooooo !
This trip will consist of 4 flights but only the Zurich - Madrid will be published, the others are available written in French.
48 hours before take-off, I received this offer from Iberia : An upgrade in business class for 35€. I do not hesitate and I take this upgrade !
I landed from Amsterdam 8 hours before my flight to Madrid. I go to the counters to collect my boarding pass. Unfortunately, the person will inform me that she cannot print my boarding pass because she do not work for Iberia.
I have my boarding pass on my phone, I'm going to go through the security check.
I go through the duty free. The prices are like in Switzerland: Expensive!
Business class passagers can access to the Aspire lounge.
23 airlines send their passengers to this lounge. The Marhaba Lounge was closed.
The lounge is really small and the food supply is very poor…

The Chair A319 has just landed from PMI with my friend Akivi on board.
My A330-200 has just landed from Madrid.
Wonderful! It's gonna be my first flight in an Airbus A330.

The flight continues without turbulence over France
The IFE has a lot of movies, series and games.
After 25 minutes, the meal was served.
Starter with beef, tomatoes and olives.
Main course: Fish, mashed potatoes and ratatouille
Hot bread roll.
Dessert : A chocolate cake with rapsberry.
After this good meal, I go to the lavatories located on the rear of the cabin.
One hour left
Barcelona is under our feet

Welcome in Barajas airport, Terminal 4.
We took the automated people mover between the T4S and the T4.
We have no luggage to collect, we are heading towards the exit where our QR-Codes will be scanned.
A good experience on Iberia!

always nice a larger plane on european flights!
The seat seems nice and so does the catering.
How was the crew? I always find their english to be a bit rusty.
The crew was really great! I agree, the English accent of the Spanish is a bit weird ... But they still speak better English than I do! ;-)

Personally, I'm a fan of Iberia. So far I've had only good experiences with them. I'm always impressed with how good the catering is on short intra-European flights. Getting a long-haul configured aircraft on a short-haul flight makes the experience even better!
