My transit time was only 2H50, it was something like 32° outside meaning no real time to go downtown and to hot just to stay outside the terminal building. As you can see shadow is somewhat limited. I decided to go immediately back to the air conditionned building :)

FRAPORT is the airport operator:

The airport looks brand new and is really nice:

FIDS:

I already had my mobile boarding pass, no need to wait at the counter, I head straight to controls, no wait there, followed by the duty free. I can't buy anything since I have a domestic flight.

Airside, not that much people and …really nicely air conditionned :)

My Embraer is still there:

Wizz boards to VNO:

Downstairs there are boarding gates that can be used as non Schengen gates:

Again the E2:

Volotea A319:

Ryanair:

My E2 heads back to Basel:

My A320 arrives:

While AF boards next door:

Our boarding started as the inbound passengers were still leaving the plane:

It was down to the appron:

And waited here:

We had to take a bus to the plane, that was parked barely 100 meters away from the gate.

IAE V2500 engines:

Boarding the bird:

Aircraft Door:

We were warmly greated by the purser, the Aegean uniform looks really smart. The cabin is in a good shape with neutralized middle seats:

The tray table:

A very genereous recline:

Side view:

The seat pitch is perfect:

They even have an onboard magazine:

That is really big!

Safety card:

The genereous leg room of the first row:

The neo is still here:

LX A220-100:

We pushed back same time as the neo:

SkyExpress:

Line up:

The neo starts first:

Our turn:

V1:

Rotate:

The views are amazing:

The Santorini Caldera:

The service starts very quickly, the beverage range is impressive.

Apple juice:

We were handed out a bag with what I thought would be snacks only:

But look at this huge sandwich! It was really big and super tasty! For a 25 minutes flight!

I had barely the time to finish the sandwich and we had already levelled of to ATH:

Over Greece:

Touch down soon:

The 732 is a fire trainer, the IL76 were here on a stop to Kabul to pick up refugees.

Soviet Air Force:

We parked on a remote stand:

Last fuselage shoot before leaving the plane:

Transfer to the terminal via pax bus:

I was impressed since the bus was only for business passengers. This is really time saving for the J passengers.

And driven to the terminal. The signage is not clear enough, I found it hard to make my way to the exit.

Ok, here it was a bit easier:

This way out:

Taxi have a flat rate to ATH, I will then take the taxi:

Really cool review. The airport is beautiful next to the water. I'm amazed you got a snack and drink on such a short flight. I don't think we would be offered anything like that on a US airline no matter the class.
Thank you for the comment ! The snack was really great indeed :)
JTR can get a little chaotic in the summer since it's so tiny, but there are such awesome views from the terrace upstairs!
It really is. Aegean list pitch in J rows as 33+ inches, which is unheard of there days with most carriers (BA, LH, OS, SN etc barely giving 30" in J...which isn't even a great seat pitch for Y!)
Now that's true short-haul Business class service! Extra space, fresh food, and a wide selection of drinks!
Aegean consistently offer good service in both cabins no matter the flight time. Having flown this route on A3 but in Y, I remember it fondly as an impressively good experience for being such a short flight.
Thanks for sharing!
