Introduction

This is return trip report is from April 2018. I was transiting through Bangkok. Arrived from Mumbai early morning, read report: Trip Report: Thai Airways International TG318 Bangkok to Mumbai

Security check

After reaching security, had handbag scanned. shoes had to be taken off. cleared without issue.

Boarding Gate

After security,I sat and charged my phone. After having sufficient charge, spent sometime browsing in duty free shops and had breakfast. Checked the boarding gate details.  I had from Pier C to arrive in Pier D.

TG 471 would be departing from gate D2

Queue formed for boarding.

Boarding

Ground crew checked passport and boarding pass and allowed to continue towards aircraft.

Onboard

I had chosen seat while booking the ticket.  I had selected window seat. Oman Air and Etihad  in next gate.

Settled in seat, waited for door to close.

Pushback and Departure

Pushback was on time, A long taxi to runway. With 2 flights departed before this. Watch video to enjoy the departure.

Safety demonstration was conducted on personal screen.

Window view

After takeoff, aircraft continue ascending.

Continued the climb and then turned South.

Drinks Service

Peanuts served followed by drinks after takeoff.

I chose red wine for drink

Breakfast Service

Breakfastl service followed drinks after 30 minute

I had selected the chicken option, got chicken sausage, omlette and roasted potato

Cruising over Cambodia

Still 8 hours to landing.

After meal, windows shades were down and rested for few hours.

Inflight

Occasionally checked through the window after few hours of rest. Aircraft was flying over Australia.

Dinner Service

Dinner was served 2 hours before landing.

I chose chicken option

Food was good, Meal tray was cleared soon after eating.

Twilight as aircraft flies over NSW.

Another 1 hour and 10 minutes to landing

Landing in Sydney

Captain came on the mic and announced descend would commence soon. Crew cleared the cabin and conducted safety check. Aircraft would be landing from South on runway 34L. watch video to experience landing.

After landing, aircraft continued on gate after a short taxi.

Captian announced to disarm doors. Disembarkation was orderly/

Immigration and quarantine

I had exited the aircraft and reached the Smartgate kiosk. Provided my information and ticket was generated.

Carried the ticket to Smartgate, inserted ticket and gate was opened.

As I was waiting at baggage collection, I was approached by officer. Looked at my passport and asking about my travel and where i live. One  of the question, why I travelled through Bangkok. I answered her question. She did not ask me anything after that.

My bag came soon after.

I wasn't carrying any declarable item and was allowed to exit.

Exiting Airport

After exiting the terminal, I reached the car park and drove home.
