Hello everyone!
Long time no see. Last year I was invited to a congress in Mendoza in august. As I live in the interior of Argentina (and close to Buenos Aires), we don’t get many flights. I managed to get a returning flight from MDZ but to get there I had to take a bus…a 12-hour journey.
So, let´s start with the report
AR1713
Date: 15/08/22
Origin: Mendoza – El Plumerillo International MDZ
Destination Rosario – Islas Malvinas International ROS
Departure: 10.00 (10.15 real)
Arrival: 11.20 (11.15)
On the date of the flight, I took a cab to the airport. They picked me up at 06.30 am, and it was still dark outside. During the 20-minute drive I got to see the sunrise.

MDZ Airport
I had already checked in for the flight the day before on the app. I went to the counter to dispatch my luggage and they gave me my boarding pass.
I heard the airport interior was recently upgraded.
Immediately I went past security to the boarding lounge
I expected this area to be bigger, as MDZ is the fourth busiest airport in Argentina. But no, it was slightly larger than mi hometown´s airport ROS.
They have a typical Argentinean coffee shop Havanna
MDZ is not a spotter friendly airport. I guess this is because the Terminal windows are facing west to, they get a lot of sunlight. Mendoza city is known to be THE land of the sun and the wine.
At 9.25 am they started calling my flight´s passengers to board.
The aircraft was a Boeing 737-800 (LV-FXQ) with sky interiors.

Next to us was an Embraer 190 bound for COR
Last views from the Andes Mountains
And finally at 10.15 we took off, and headed west.
The flight happened unnoticed, just a short 1-hour flight. There wasn’t any meal or drink service, and also any kind of IFE system on board. Not even a magazine.
At 11 we started our descent over Rosario. During that time the air quality was very poor. It was very polluted due to fire in the islands of the Parana River in front of Rosario.
At 11.15 we landed, just 5 minutes before scheduled.
On the left of the picture, you can see the new international terminal they are building, with no opening date yet.
We headed to the platform near the Terminal and disembarked through stairs.
Then I collected my luggage and headed home on a shuttle.
Now I´m leaving a bonus of pics from Mendoza, one of my favorite provinces of Argentina

Nice report Viajero; I didn`t know that AR cover directly the route MDZ-ROS
Hi! Thanks for your comment.
AR has flights from ROS to major tourism cities such as Salta, Iguazu, Mendoza and Bariloche, They also offer seasonal flights to El Calafate and San Martin de los Andes.
Saludos!
Beautiful pictures.
The cabin is nice and the seats are confortable but it is a real shame that there isn't any kind of service for a legacy carrier.
Hello! I´m glad you liked it.
I think at least a soft drinks and small snaks service would be ok. But no, not a single glass of water was offered.
Cheers
Hola!
Qué emocionante ver MDZ de nuevo!
Nop.
saludos
