Hello Everyone!
Welcome to the second leg of my series of flight reports from my trip to California last year.
So, I had arrived SCL at 23.30 and I still had a little less than 2 hours for my BOG flight´s departure.
When I got off LATAM A320 from EZE, I had to walk through a long corridor, I was surprised of how long are de distances. I was used to the old SCL terminal, and this was my first time on the new one. I got past a security check, and prior to this they were doing random COVID test on pax staying in Chile.
Then I climbed the escalators to the departures level. As it was almost 00 hours, most shops were closed, only a few restaurants were open and of course the duty-free shop.
I found my gate, and there was the aircraft the LATAM Boeing 787-800 CC-BBA.
At 00.30 they started boarding the plane. First of all, the agents called passengers flying on the cheapest fares, since they had to check they were carrying only a personal object. They looked so ready to charge them any fee if possible.
Minutes before 01 am it was my turn to board. It was my first time on a widebody aircraft in a couple of years.
My seat was 31A, and I found it more spacious than I remembered. On the seat I had a pillow and a blanket.
Finally past 01.30 we took off. Shortly after, the FAs came up with dinner. I chose pasta, and I don’t remember which was the other option. I really didn’t expect to get dinner on this flight since it was so late at night. I thought I could get breakfast maybe before landing. The portion was very small, but it was very tasty. It included a piece of focaccia bread, and a chocolate.
After dinner, I turned off my seat´s IFE screen, and tried to get some sleep.
40 minutes before landing the FAs turned on the cabin´s lights and the captain announced we were about to land at BOG.
At 05.30 we landed and the aircraft parked at the Terminal, next to the immigration line.
Disembarkement was pretty fast, I headed to passport control, where they checked you had any proof of vaccination. I was only going to stay in Bogotá for a couple of hours, because at 13.30 I was departing to LAX on an AV flight.
Saludos
