Welcome everyone to another trip report! This is a special trip for me as I will be flying out of a small municipal airport in the town of Provo which is about an hour south of Salt Lake City for the first time. Only two airlines currently serve Provo Municipal Airport which are Allegiant & Breeze Airways. Between the two carriers there are about 10 daily departures.
While planning a trip to visit family in San Francisco, I saw a pretty attractive fare flying with Breeze and when I saw the opportunity to fly on both a new airline and airport I jumped in on it ;). At the time when I was booking, Breeze was having a sale where Nicer seat fares were only $1 more then nice fares so this itself was a great bargain as Nicer Seat fares allows you to choose an extra legroom seat, zone 1 Boarding & a checked bag.
I'm currently making my way down on I-15 down to Provo. It's quite unusual for me as I'm used to always heading northbound on I-15 to Salt Lake City International Airport ?.
Some Allegiant tails sticking out from the parking lot.
Welcome to Provo Municipal Airport!
So far my flight it leaving on time
Already did my checkin online so I dropped off my bags and headed to security check point.
Made it airside in just under 10 minutes as there are only two lines for security, one for regular and the other for TSA precheck. This terminal definitely has a coziness feel to it.
Some information about my plane:
Flight number: MX600
Aircraft: Embraer E190AR
Registration: N126BZ
Delivered: November 11, 2007
I'm a huge fan of boarding planes from the tarmac even though it was freezing outside ?
Here's my seat for the next 2 hours 6A (Nicer Seat).
Legroom was great. These seats offer 33" pitch, I'm 5'9" or 176cm for reference.
Next to us is an Allegiant A320 departing across the country to Orlando/Sanford (SFB) flight time: 3h 55m
Another Allegiant A320 getting towed to gate 4 for it's flight to Phoenix/Mesa (AZA)
Boarding door is closed on time. Unfortunately we were informed that we will have to be delayed due to air traffic congestion in SFO.
45 minutes later we were pushing back.
We'll be takeoff from runway 31
Flying over Lake Utah.
Provo Airport in the distance.
Reached cruising altitude.
The tray table.
Buy on board menu.
Safety card & air sickness bag.
Everything onboard this Breeze flight is buy-on-board except for a cup of water. You do get snacks of you are seated in their first class like nicest seats on their bigger A220 aircraft but on this one there isn't.
Personal tablet holder.
Flying over the Sierra Nevada Mountains
Beginning our initial descent into San Francisco
Landing into runway 28R
Southwest B737-800 taking off
Delta A319 arriving from Salt Lake City, Ut
Delta B757-300 arriving from Detroit, Mi
A United B737-900
This concludes the trip report, thanks for reading!
This was a great experience trying out both a new airline & airport. Provo Airport is small yet modern and clean. I would highly recommend anyone to travel out of there because for its easy accessibility. Breeze Airways on the other hand was a good airline. It's a little disappointing that hey don't offer complimentary drinks/snacks. They claim to be a hybrid airline between a low cost and full service airline so it would of been nice to see something close to what you'd normally experience in a full service carrier. I must mention though that on this flight there was no form of entertainment and not even any wifi to connect to. I would recommend downloading some entertainment onto your own device for longer flights. Seat comfort was good though these seats as well lack padding and would only be comfortable for a flight of this length or shorter.
