Introduction
Welcome from JFK international airport, terminal 4 to be exact to another Trip report!
I start off my journey where I left off from my previous flight that originated from Atlanta on an A321neo. I was scheduled to have about a 7 hour layover here before my next (and long portion) of this trip begins. During this time me and my mom decided to do some lounge hopping within T4 by visiting both SkyClubs (on concourse A & B) and the centurion lounge right in the middle to kill some time. By this point we had already paid a visit to the concourse A Sky Club and the centurion lounge where we had a bit of breakfast and lunch in each.

Since we still had a considerably long time left before my next flight, we decided on spending the rest of our time at the Delta Sky Club on concourse B.

On my way to the lounge I came across an intriguing sight. There's a fire fighting training currently going on. If I'm not mistaken, the Port Authority of NJ/NY uses a dummy aircraft to train airport rescue and firefighter for Newark, LaGuardia and JFK airports. It's not everyday you come across a sight like this, especially at an active airport.

Delta Sky Club
I failed to realize that at this time there was a ton of transatlantic departures seeming to all be leaving at once so there was a considerably long line to get into this particular lounge. Eventually I made my way up to the Delta Sky Club where I enjoyed these amazing apron views along with a glass of sparkling wine 😉.

Like with most other Delta Sky Clubs I've been to, there's a good array of hot and cold food options to choose from. The food quality is definitely better then at many Admiral clubs I've been to. However being allowed access to a Delta Sky Club is quite restrictive and pretty much requires a premium CC to allow access along with a purchase of a main cabin ticket or higher. Despite these restrictive measures, the lounges only seem to be getting more crowded IMO.

Went for some desserts to satisfies my sweet tooth.

Plane Spotting
Managed to capture this beautiful giant passing by. Emirates operates two daily nonstop flights between JFK and Dubai both being operated by the Airbus A380-800. This aircraft currently being towed to its departure gate at T4's A gates where it will operate the red-eye flight to Dubai.

Two remotely parked Boeing 767-300ER's. Identical to the ones I'll be traveling on tonight to Stockholm.

An Airbus A330-300 pushing back from the gate for it's 4:35pm departure for Amsterdam; flight time: 6h 34m
Delta operates two daily nonstop flights between JFK and Amsterdam using a mix between the A330's and 767's.

After a pleasant stay at the lounge it was now time to start heading to the gate for boarding.

My flight is DL 204 with a scheduled departure time of 5:55pm.

Delta operates the JFK to Stockholm route seasonally with thrice weekly flights from mid April to mid October and daily in the summer months. Funny enough, my flight tonight will be the first flight of the season which I noticed when booking these tickets.

Here's our gate for tonight's flight, B36.

This is the only view I could get of my Boeing 767 from the gate area.

Boarding
Boarding was soon about to commence.

Boarding began right on time and I boarded with Sky Priority group.

My aircraft
A better look at my beautiful 767 taking me across the Atlantic tonight. N193DN was built and delivered from Boeing to Delta on Aug. 21, 1997. Making her almost 27 years old at the time of this flight. It's not often that you get to fly on aircraft reaching almost 30 years of age. Especially on 767's which are rare to fly on especially if your outside of the US.

This aircraft is configured in a four class premium heavy configuration (76K) consisting of 26 Delta One, 18 Premium Select, 21 Comfort+ and lastly 151 Main Cabin for a total capacity of 216 seats.

Walking passed the Delta One cabin which is configured in a 1-1-1 abreast seating giving each seat direct aisle access.

Following after are three rows of Premium Select cabin (Delta's premium economy product) which is configured in a 2-2-2 abreast layout.

And lastly Comfort+/Main cabin. Delta's economy class cabin on the 767 is configured in a spacious 2-3-2 abreast layout.

Seat
And here's my seat for the next 8 hours, 48G.

Placed at each seat was a sealed blanket and pillow.

Each seat get's a personal PTV which we'll explore later in the flight.

Directly under the PTV there's a USB power port along with a headphone jack.

In addition below the seat there's a universal power port with an additional USB power port (one per two seats).

These seats offer 32" of pitch which for economy class is very good.

Looks like today will be a perfect afternoon for flying 😉.

Boarding is complete and tonight's flight load to Stockholm is relatively full at 85%. Not bad for this being the first flight of the seasonal service.

Shortly after, the flight attendants passed through the cabin handing out complimentary headphones. I did notice that Delta has stopped offering main cabin amenity kits, though they were small and didn't include much but it's the small things that count. I used to get them on all my international flights when flying in economy on Delta for the past few years. Most likely another part of cost cutting DL is implementing.

The safety video began showing.

British Airways Boeing 777-200ER departing for London Gatwick (LGW); flight time: 6h 15m

Boeing 737-900ER arriving from Salt Lake City (SLC); flight time: 3h 41m

Pushback
We pushed back from the gate right on time.

Cabin lights were dimmed for takeoff.

Passing by an Airbus A330-900neo getting towed to our gate we just left in fact for it's international departure for Paris (CDG) later tonight.

Some AA action, B737-MAX 8 (left) E175LR (right).

Lower Manhattan in the distance.

EL AL Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner taking off for Tel Aviv (TLV); flight time: 9h 53m

Just ahead of us is an AirFrance Airbus A350-900 departing for Paris (CDG); flight time: 6h 35m

Takeoff
We'll be taking off on runway 22R.

See you in a few weeks New York!

Rockaway Beach

Upon observing the route map, I couldn't help but notice how northerly this route really is.

Tray table/seat back contents
Let's take a look at the tray table and seat back contents. The tray table is a little wonky and has seen better days.

But at least it was clean.

Seat back contents contained the safety card.

And air sickness bag.

We reached cruising altitude at 38,000ft.

Cabin lights were turned on for the start on the inflight dinner service.

It began to get darker outside rather quickly as the flight progressed.

Dinner Service
The flight attendants began the service by offering a choice of drinks.

We were now beginning to fly over Nova Scotia.

Just over an hour into flight dinner was served.

Choices were chicken or pasta, I went with the first. The meal tray also came with a potato salad as a side, cheese and crackers, and a prepackaged brownie for dessert.

Here's a look at the pasta option my mom chose.

Delta provides wooden utensils for economy class.

The main entree was tasty and very delicious. The chicken, rice and string beans were cooked to perfection. From my past experience, Delta usually does a great job with economy class catering.

The potato salad was garnished with string beans and shredded sweet pepper. The salad itself was very tasty as well.

Overall the meal was great for economy class standards. The cheese, crackers and brownies are saved aside so I can eat them at a later time 😅.

After the trays were cleared, the crew came around offering one last round of drinks. I went for a bourbon cream and coffee.

After the dinner service was completed, the crew turned off the cabin lights so everyone can get some rest.

I managed to get about two hours of sleep as we were flying close over Iceland. I woke up kinda hungry so I headed to the galley to see what snacks and drinks they have on offer.

Mid-flight snack
On short redeye transatlantic flights as this one, there is generally no mid-flight service. If you want a snack or drink, you can head to the galley where the flight attendants have a basket with readily available snacks and drinks.

The cabin while it was completely dark.

Inflight entertainment
Delta's IFE system, also called Delta Studio has a good selection of movies, tv shows and music to listen to.

My main form of entertainment personally is the fantastic interactive map.

The loo
Before the next service starts, let's take a look at the loo. There are three other's like this one in the main/premium select cabin on this 767-300.

Overall the loo was kept clean and tidy.

The sun began to rise once again.

There's nothing more mesmerizing then observing a morning sunrises from the sky.

The cabin lights were turned on to a sunrise themed mood lighting for the start of the pre-arrival service.

Pre-arrival service
Less than an hour before arrival, breakfast was served.

The only item on offer was this egg and cheese breakfast calzone.

It wasn't the best but at least it was filling 😅.

Shortly after drinks were offered again.

Cheers to a fun trip!

Initial descent
The captain came on the PA to notify us of the pleasant weather in Stockholm and that we would be beginning our initial descent soon.

The FA's began to prepare the cabin for landing.

Landing
We'll be landing on runway 19R.

Welcome to Stockholm! 🇸🇪

We are in SAS territory. As of September 2024, SAS is now officially part of Skyteam alliance.

Arrival at gate
We arrived at the gate at 7:10am, 50 minutes ahead of schedule, well done Delta.

Walking passed the comfort+ (which is where I'll be sitting on the return leg from Stockholm to JFK in a few weeks).

One last look at our 767 that brought us over form JFK, thanks for the fun and enjoyable flight.

From here we will be making our way to our connecting flight with Ryanair departing out of T4. Stay tuned for that TR!

This concludes the TR, thanks for reading!
