introduction
Welcome to another trip report! This report will cover flight number two of three of my journey that started in Salt Lake City all the way to Puerto Vallarta via San Diego & San José. This flight that I'll be taking is the shortest of them three and will be a new route for me to cover on Alaska. This next flight will also be operated on another SkyWest Airlines E175 on behalf for Alaska Airlines.
Originally I had an 1.5h layover here in SAN which I planned on doing some plane spotting however that got scrapped when my previous flight from SLC ended up being over an 1 hour delayed coming into San Diego. After deplaning I sprinted over to gate 28B where my next flight will be departing from.

As I arrived at the gate I was amongst the last to board the aircraft. Was very close to missing this flight but glad that didn't happen ?.

Boarding

Up until now I thought I would be boarding my plane through an airbridge only to realize that I'll be treated to boarding the aircraft through a sort of air stairs.

Some information about my plane:
Flight number: AS 3481
Aircraft: Embraer E175LR
Registration: N173SY
Delivered: June 4, 2015
Age: 8 years

Here's my quite old E175 that'll take me on the short hop to San José.

Here's my seat 20A.

After I boarded the captain announced that we would waiting a bit longer for a few more connecting passengers. Ultimately this flight would be 100% full in both J and Y.

Leg room was surprisingly not bad. According to aerolopa, these seats offer 30" of pitch. I'm 5'9" or 176cm for reference.

From my seat I could see my previous E175 that brought me here from SLC.

AS Boeing 737-900ER arriving from San Jose del Cabo (SJD) flight time: 1h 5m

pushback/takeoff
As soon as the connecting passengers were seated we pushed back from the gate. The captain announced that despite the slight delay we would be making up the time in the air for an on time arrival.

Lining up on runway 27 for takeoff.

Until next time San Diego!

Santa Catalina Island

inflight entertainment
Alaska's E175's are equipped with wifi so you can connect on your own device and take advantage of the fantastic selection of movies, tv shows and great interactive map. This is far superior then AA's inflight entertainment that doesn't even have as quite of a variety of movies or even a moving map for that matter.

inflight service
Since this was quite a short flight, the FA's wasted no time and sprung into the cabin for the service about 20 minutes into flight.

The inflight service only consisted of a choice of drink, I went for a coke. I really don't like that AS had done away with the 12oz cans and instead offered these half size 6oz ones.

Another Alaska E175 in the distance flying from San Francisco to San Diego.

initial descent/landing

Before we knew it were beginning our initial descent into San José. The FA's began preparing the cabin for landing.

We would be lining up to land on runway 30R.

Welcome to SJC!

One last look at our E175, thanks for the safe flight!

This concludes the trip report, thanks for reading!
Hah it's funny to see the AS gates as SAN since I was just there yesterday. I've done this route a few times over the last few years and it's a very convenient flight for getting to the Bay Area and often less expensive than SFO, especially in F. It used to be operated by ex-VX A320s, but has been E175s for a few years now. I definitely don't mind the E-jets as those are some of the few aircraft I don't mind sitting in Y with the nice 2-2 config and bigger seats than the 737s.
Thanks for sharing!
